PART TWO: FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITY
Position Objective Manages and performs skilled housekeeping, laundry and linen services for the Lifecare Buildings, which encompasses 200,000 plus square feet of resident homes, Nursing areas, bathrooms, office and common areas. Supervises the daily operations of the department and promotes safe work habits through open communication and leading by example. Provides continuous performance feedback effectively through conversation, demonstration, and follow up.
Performance Expectation Performs daily written inspections of Life care buildings to ensure superior cleanliness, standard adherence, and patient satisfaction. Deliver inspection results to housekeepers and provide effective feedback in a positive manner to ensure all standards are met in a productive and efficient manner. Manages the subcontracted relationship with linen and other cleaning service companies, ensuring linen meets infection control requirements and services are rendered properly, timely and within budgeted expectations. Manages and is responsible for the entire housekeeping budget, including services, materials, supplies, salary, etc. Ensures expenses are in alignment with budget and communicates to the Facilities Director when expenses exceed budget. Supervises housekeeping services including cleaning, mopping, scrubbing, sanitizing of floors in all areas. Ensures that common areas including conference rooms, lobby waiting areas are sanitary, clean and free of trash and debris. Ensures rest rooms are sanitized, cleaned and stocked on a regular basis. Supervises and trains employees both new and existing to assigned duties and areas, establish work schedule, and resolve any coverage issues. Recruits and interviews applicants and make hiring decisions. Specific and detailed direction is given on special assignments. Responsible for interviewing and hiring new employees Responsible for completing employee evaluations and bi-annual reviews and coaches’ employees towards improved performance. Advises Facility Director of tasks that need repair inside and outside Lifecare. Responsible for ensuring new employees have an assigned Mentor for the designated training process and procedures for quality and safety. Manages and oversees the Lead Housekeeper on the evenings/nights shift. Ensures the Lead Housekeeper is meeting expectations of the off-shift crews through mentoring, coaching and directing. Makes recommendations for equipment repair and purchase. Works according to policy and procedure for equipment purchase, and maintains within the approved capital budget. Follows CMS, OSHA, Infection Control and APD policy and procedures. Ensures the Popl room meets state requirements, Responsible for the accurate and timely completion of schedules and electronic timekeeping systems for the housekeeping department. Cross train on all aspects of housekeeping services and responsibilities on the Lifecare campus to provide coverage. Continually develops and reviews housekeeping plan that assures most efficient and cost-effective techniques are utilized. Responsible for ordering and receiving all housekeeping supplies and maintaining inventory Continually reviews cleaning product inventory to assure least harmful chemicals are chosen. Responsible for managing and communicating choices via SDS to staff and direct supervisor Other duties as assigned by direct supervisor
