Environmental Services Regional Global Practice Manager
**Description** The Environmental Regional Global Practice Manager is responsible for the strategic development and overall leadership of the Environmental Regional Global Practice for the Midwest Region. This includes growing the region’s Environmental (ENS) practice in a dynamic and profitable manner based upon Burns & McDonnell's core values of client satisfaction, commitment, dedication, integrity, safety, and overall outstanding service. The Manager will directly oversee the engineering and design-build business including sales, recruiting, business plan development, and growth plan for the region including risk management, staff development, project delivery, and profitable project execution. Duties also include building an outstanding diverse team, ensuring profitable and sound growth, leading sales & marketing activities, ensuring that the Quality Control program is adhered to, maintaining and enhancing safety programs, developing long-term strategic planning, providing risk management, staff development training programs, developing outstanding client relationships, and serving as project principal on our key projects and design-build projects. Specific areas of responsibility include the following, with other duties as assigned by executive management: Business Expansion: + Develop and assist in the implementation of the strategic business plan to develop and expand the firm’s Environmental practice in areas of service and expertise within the region. This includes expanding existing relationships within the regional marketplace. + Determine, prioritize, and organize client relationships and opportunities, and manage team efforts for submittals, proposals, presentations, contract negotiation, and related activities. + Determine direction and lead market awareness, including involvement in professional associations, technical articles, conferences, and boards. + Identify and support the recruitment of key individuals necessary to grow the practice area and support key ENS national initiatives. + Partner with ENS national practice team to develop business. + Partner with other Burns & McDonnell Regional and Branch Offices in facilitating strong working relationships and sharing in business development. + Develop and grow the business across St Louis through the Ohio Valley (including OH, KY, IN, PA). + Partner with CDB to develop EPC projects in markets including Remediation and Solar. + Develop EPC PMs. Project Execution: + Establish project teams and coordinate activities of all resources required to support the developed services, including BMI resources and utilization. + Serve as a technical specialist and advisor for project team(s). + Ensure that the review process and other quality control guidelines are effectively implemented. + Guide project managers in project management methodologies and tools. Leadership: Provide leadership to enable the group to consistently attain long-term profitable growth in meeting and exceeding parameters and criteria developed each year in our Business Plan. This begins each year with the development of the ENS GP Business Plan, setting high goals, and then exceeding expectations in terms of business parameters, staffing, sales, and long-term office development. Provide leadership to help staff reach their maximum performance potential. + Recruit, develop, train and retain staff. + Assign work and review performance to ensure the efficient, cost-effective utilization of staff. + Interpret policies, purposes, and goals of the organization to staff. + Demonstrate creativity, foresight, and mature judgment in anticipating and solving problems. + Prepare and monitor department budget and expenditure of funds for staff hours, supplies, training, and equipment. + Responsible for conducting performance evaluations for direct reports and overseeing performance evaluations and ratings for MWR ENS Global Practice. + Preparing and owning succession planning for MWR ENS Global Practice. + Create a unified team across all MWR offices. Measures of Performance: (These performance measures will be quantified in cooperation with ENS Global Practice Leadership and Regional Office Leadership.) + Attainment of sales, revenue and income goals for the ENS Global Practice. + Growth of the ENS Global Practice based on sales, revenue, net income (profitability) and staff size. + Attainment of billable time targets for ENS staff. + Ability to maximize profitability on projects. + Ability to attract, hire, develop, and retain the best people within the organization. + Ability to execute projects meeting or exceeding client expectations for quality, schedule and budget. + Ability to execute projects in a manner to meet and exceed internal expectations for quality, schedule, labor/cost budgets, project profitability, BMI utilization, safety and client satisfaction. **Qualifications** + Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, construction management, science or related field from an accredited curriculum and 10 years related professional experience, including experience in a senior leadership role and managing a large business line or office with multiple technical disciplines. + Master Degree of Engineering or Executive Masters of Business Administration is preferred. + Demonstrated ability to meet financial goals, project management, business development, sales and marketing, recruitment, diversity and retention of staff. + Demonstrated experience in integrating and coordinating diverse areas of management. + Demonstrated success in finding solutions to detailed, complex concepts and problems, balancing multiple tasks simultaneously, and making rapid decisions regarding administrative issues. + Demonstrated ability to apply intensive and diversified knowledge of principles and practices to broad areas of assignments. + Ability to establish relationships with Board, committees, volunteers, staff, donors and clients. Develops constructive relationships with executive colleagues, outside agencies, organizations and individuals. + Ability to convey a professional and positive image and attitude. + Demonstrated ability in the critical areas of commitment to results, business savvy, leading change, and motivating. + Excellent oral and written communication skills with a high level of personal skills to make formal, persuasive presentations to groups and to deal effectively with members of all segments of the community. + Experience in the field of philanthropy and community relations. + Must possess the skills and methodology to function as a leader and consistently display integrity, model excellent behavior, develop people, and build teams.
