Overview Day Shift Open This position is responsible for the handling, transporting and management of soiled laundry. This position also performs other duties as assigned. Note: This job description is specific to Janesville Hospital linen operations only. Responsibilities Essential Duties and Responsibilities Loads dirty linen onto MUHL trucks. Delivers clean linen to departments and nursing units. Collects and weighs soiled linen. Transfers soiled linen to storage racks for pickup from MUHL. Fill AEx/ScrubEx machines when needed Empties soiled scrubs from AlEx/ScrubEx machines daily. Restocks isolation gowns as needed. Counts washcloth packs in Linen Room. Report lost items and specialty items going to laundry service. Order additional liners, gloves, etc. as needed. Clean and disinfect carts and courier bins. Use correct personal protective equipment (PPE) when picking up soiled linen. Adheres to infection control practices at all times, which include wearing gloves when picking up soiled linen using other personal protective equipment (PPE) as needed. Use correct hand washing procedures. If applicable, generates monthly soiled laundry weight sheets. Education and Experience High school graduate or equivalent preferred. Previous cleaning experience helpful. Special Physical Demands The Special Physical Demands are considered Essential Job Functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodations. This is considered very heavy work. While performing the duties of this job, the partner is regularly required to perform repetitive motions related to the following: stand, walk, finger, handle, feel, grasp, push, pull and reach with hands and arms. The partner is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The partner is frequently required to climb (using step stool or ladder), balance and stoop, kneel, twist, bend, crouch, or crawl. The partner is occasionally required to smell. The partner must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move over 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, distance vision, depth perception.
