About the role

About the Role:    

Reporting to the Operations Director, the Environment Manager is responsible for ensuring that all environmental-related tasks are completed for the Packard Rd, College Ave, and Hyde Park facilities for Reworld.  This position will drive effective internal management programs to identify and control environmental compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

Assesses moderately complex environmental risks, opportunities, and potential impacts on stakeholder priorities, or strategy.Develops workable strategies to mitigate/eliminate compliance risks and provides recommendations to Director and/or business partners as required.Actively advances sustainability efforts through frequent benchmarking both internally and externally to identify best practices, consistent with and in support of the Environmental and Sustainability strategy, to be applied effectively throughout the organization.Supports internal communication strategy that builds and maintains awareness of Environmental and Sustainability values, strategies, and performance; develops talent; and recognizes high performance.Supports leaders to promote proactive workplace Environmental and Sustainability practices.Analyze new and complex business projects against current and anticipated future regulatory requirements and provide practical, workable solutions to the business.Work with sites to ensure compliance by providing interpretations and guidance, assisting with the preparation of and ongoing maintenance of environmental licenses and permits, providing review and feedback regarding non-routine environmental reporting and communications, and conducting site audits and compliance reviews.Keep up-to-date with regulatory activities and environmental issues and provide input on proposed laws and regulations affecting the Company and provide compliance updates and training to site personnel.Maintains and continuously improves environmental results by supporting a culture of open idea exchange and lean mindset.Provides operational/tactical leadership to complex Environmental audit, inspection and risk assessment processes.Using full knowledge of Environmental practices and standards, reviews, analyzes and interprets audit results, to confirm Environmental standards are metProvide leadership and guidance concerning sustainability programs in a fast paced, cross functional and highly collaborative environment.Prioritize initiatives and resources to maximize effectiveness.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Affairs or other Environmental related fields5 years of experience in manufacturing or an industrial related field5 years environmental or other applicable regulatory affairs experienceComprehensive and advanced knowledge and understanding of relevant technical requirements and regulatory compliance including Air Permitting and regulatory reporting (CAA, NPDES, SARA, RCRA, SPCC)Knowledge of air permitting requirements and air pollution abatement and control measures for production processes and equipmentKnowledge of storm water permitting requirements and related reporting requirementsDemonstrated understanding of the relationship between business activities and relevant regulatory state, local and regulatory requirements.Proven ability to use critical thinking skills and rigorous logic and methods to solve challenging issues with effective solutions related to regulatory compliance.Advanced written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills to effectively address complex matters.

The expected salary for this position is $83,300 -$93,000.

This is a good-faith estimate of what we expect to pay for this position. The final salary will consider various factors, including experience, ability, and location. Reworld is committed to paying its staff equitably, and these ranges should not be considered career salary limits or caps.
