This is a contract position; however it is not uncommon for assignments to transition into permanent positions with our client companies. Job Responsibilities                                              
Your specific duties as a Environmental Specialist will include:        Compensation (Range): $34 / hour Ideal candidate will be a qualified expert or engineer with a passion for environmental and natural sciences. All candidates will demonstrate outstanding communication skills, with an aptitude to understand and interpret data. Your ultimate goal will be to ensure our compliance with federal, state, and local regulations at a power plant facility. Complete field environmental inspections of waste, water, and air systems. Maintain environmental management systems and plans that identify the location of hazardous sites, chemical inventories, and complaint investigations. Implement spill prevention programs and hazardous waste regulations. Develop and recommend solutions to eliminate pollution and environmental hazards. Collect samples of waste, soil, and water as needed. Act as the power plants liaison for environmental compliance concerns.

Job Requirements
As a Environmental Specialist you must represent our company well by being responsible, punctual and motivated to go above and beyond the call of duty. You must also be highly detail-oriented and organized with excellent analytic and problem-solving abilities.  It is also important that you display excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills. Bachelors degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or relevant fields. A minimum of 2 years experience in a similar role (power plant technician or engineering experience or environmental compliance) Knowledge of regulatory requirements, interpretations, and health and safety programs. Aptitude to solve problems quickly with advanced conflict resolution skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Outstanding analytical abilities.
