Description
This position will serve as a supplemental contract employee to the Environmental Affairs, Water Field Services organization in the water quality compliance studies group. This position is a field position and interested candidates should be comfortable working outdoors, year-round, and in inclement weather. This position requires water quality, biological and other environmental field monitoring. In addition, this position will investigate innovative approaches to maintain environmental compliance in and around generation facilities, using biological, limnological, ecological and water treatment techniques. Responsibilities include following Field sampling and Measurement organization accredited procedures to collect data in support of state and federal mandates. Additional work that would be supportive for this role would include but not limited to Fishery studies and identification to other species in specified areas of emphasis. This position will require a minimum 10-hour day, 4 day per week (Monday-Thursday) schedule.
Skills & Qualifications
-BS in Environmental Science, Biology, Chemistry or related degrees
-Confidence in operating a boat, backing and trailering
-Basic knowledge of environmental chemistry, limnology, fisheries, wildlife, aquatic life and/or plant life
-Ability to work in physically demanding environments (elements of the weather conditions)
-Ability to work with Environmental monitoring equipment to collect legally defensible data
-Excellent computer skills, including the use of MS office
-Ability to work in a team environment for the common pursuit of completion of goals
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $24.00
