Description
We are seeking an enthusiasticEnvironmental Specialistto join our team and play a key role in planning and implementing Site Assessments and remediation programs. In this dynamic position, you’ll be responsible for collecting critical environmental data and samples from air, soil vapor, groundwater, and more. You will also assist in hazardous materials investigations, including asbestos, lead, PCB-caulk, and mold. Your expertise will help interpret analytical data, prepare detailed technical reports, and collaborate with the GIS team to create and ensure the accuracy of associated maps.

Salary Range: $28.36-$32.00 Hourly
Actual compensation may vary based on relevant experience, qualifications/education, and other factors. The salary range is not necessarily reflective of the actual total compensation that may be earned nor promises any specific pay for any specific employee. Salary range excludes monetary value of benefits.
The primary function of this role is responsible for, but not limited to the following:
+ Understand field sampling methodologies and diversified knowledge of environmental regulations and guidance documents.
+ Conduct environmental due diligence investigations, site assessments, visual inspections, and compliance audits.
+ Perform field inspections, collect field measurements, well monitoring, operations & maintenance of remediation equipment, and sample collection.
+ Coordination and oversight of subcontractors for field activities, with minimal supervision.
+ Interaction with State and Federal Regulatory agencies.
+ Adhere to company and client Quality Control/Quality Control standards.
+ Coordinate with analytical laboratory to order project-specific bottle sets, submission of lab samples including completion of a Chain-of-Custody.
+ Collaborate with other company professional groups and project team professionals on multidisciplinary projects.
+ Complete and understand internal and client-specific safety training and plans required.
+ May serve as Site Safety Officer on projects.
+ Proficient in Phase I Environmental Site Assessment (ESAs) Investigations, consistent with ASTM E1527-21 and ASTM E2247-16.
+ Proficient in field work and field documentation on Phase II ESAs consistent with ASTM E1903-19.
+ Able to prepare analytical tables, draft technical reports, and assist in preparing project-specific GIS mapping.
+ Conduct asbestos building inspections, quantifications, draft reporting, and subsequent project air monitoring consistent with state and federal regulations.
+ Conduct hazardous materials inspections such as lead-based paint, PCB-caulk, and universal waste consistent with state and federal requirements and regulations.
+ Conduct mold inspections consistent with applicable state requirements.
Requirements
Education & Experience
+ B.A. in Environmental Science, B.S. in Environmental Engineering, or related field.
+ Minimum of 2-5 years of related experience.
+ NYSDOL-Certified Asbestos Inspector or Licensed Asbestos Air Monitor, a plus.
+ NYSDOL-Certified Mold Assessor, a plus.
+ OSHA HAZWOPER 40-Hour with current 8-Hour OSHA HAZWOPER annual refresher.

+ Ability to read and understand plans/blueprints with knowledge of building systems (HVAC, insulation, building products).

+ Must be able to access and navigate construction sites and job areas.
+ Must pass respirator medical clearance and respirator fit test.
+ Must be able to wear a respirator for required work, occasionally for extended for extended periods of time.
+ Must be comfortable wearing project-specific level of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as Tyvek suits, nitrile gloves, safety glasses, hard hat, and steel toe boots.
+ Must be able to work in environmental conditions including office environment, field environment, construction site environment; exposure to dust, noise, grease, smoke, fumes, gases, heat, cold, and inclement weather conditions when working in the field.
