Job Description
Provide technical functions to achieve, maintain, and document compliance with environmental regulatory requirements. Ensure that all related work is completed in compliance with Company, State, and Federal regulations.
ResponsibilitiesManage the operation of the facility's Wastewater Treatment System, including calibration of control instrumentation, procurement of treatment chemicals and reagents, disposal of residual sludge, collection of performance samples, and management of analysis by external laboratory.Complete and submit discharge monitoring reports and other required reporting.Schedule maintenance for the treatment system.Manage the disposal of Universal waste, as well as hazardous and non-hazardous waste materials, including routine scheduling of waste removal, recordkeeping, periodic certification, and regulatory report generation.Arrange accommodation for special projects.Investigate alternatives to disposal options including opportunities for pollution prevention, waste minimization, and recycling.Conduct weekly inspections of the facility, document findings, arrange for and monitor progress of clean-up/remediation of problem areas.Conduct training for other employees regarding waste handling, chemical hazards, pollution prevention, and waste minimization.Observe all safety rules and practice good housekeeping.Perform other duties as assigned.Essential SkillsExperience in wastewater management (must have), testing, and calibration of instrumentation.Knowledge of environmental compliance and regulatory requirements.Ability to manage environmental regulatory compliance.Bachelor's degree preferred, but an Associate degree with experience is acceptable.Waste removal and inspection experience.Additional Skills & Qualifications5+ years of relevant experience ideal.Ability to work independently.Strong organizational and recordkeeping skills.Work Environment
The role is based in a manufacturing plant with standard working hours from 7 AM to 5 PM. You will be part of a small team of specialists and engineers. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $38.00/hr.
