The **Environmental Specialist** is the single point of contact for the organization on all environmental matters. They will execute and evaluate audits of assigned operations to ensure compliance with customer and installation Environmental Management Systems (EMS), policies, processes, and procedures. Ensures the collection of EMS data and analyses of that data to identify trends and monitor the effectiveness of the EMS program.
+ Conducts Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly and Annual Inspections IAW Installation, Local, State and Federal Environmental Compliance regulations.
+ Performs internal and external audits to ensure compliance with established and applicable environmental, health and safety rules and governmental regulations.
+ Coordinates with Environmental and Natural Resources Division (ENRD) to maintain the EMS.
+ Maintains HAZMAT supplies, storage, and satellite waste accumulation facilities IAW applicable environmental, health and safety rules and governmental regulations.
+ Monitors HAZMAT SDS library to ensure appropriate data sheets are on hand for the Authorized Usage List (AUL).
+ Conducts quality and safety inspections/audits of HAZMAT and Environmental operations to ensure compliance with policies, procedures, standards, and regulations.
+ Responds to customer and installation complaints as required.
+ Review incoming technical publications and directives for applicability.
+ Perform other qualified duties as assigned.
**Minimum Requirements**
+ Knowledge of Environmental Compliance and Safety Management practices and processes to carry out performance requirements and ensure contractual requirements are met.
+ Working knowledge and experience implementing Environmental, Health and Safety programs.
+ Knowledge in Root Cause analysis and implementing Corrective Actions.
+ Working knowledge of military quality practices.
+ Fluent in English, both speaking and writing.
+ Excellent communication, effective leadership, and interpersonal skill
+ Knowledge of AS 9110 Quality Management System requirements.
+ Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs to develop reports and inventory data.
+ Knowledge of Enterprise Environmental, Safety & Occupational Health System (EESOH-MIS), to request, review and track HAZMAT and environmental applications.
+ Additional knowledge/skills may be required by contract or assignment.
+ Additional Duty Safety Officer (ADSO) qualified. (Within 60 days of employment must have completed the Additional Duty Safety Course (ADSC) as outlined in AR/DA PAM 385 series
+ Environmental Compliance Officer (ECO) qualified. (Within 60 days of employment must have completed)
**Clearance Requirements:**
+ Must be able to obtain and maintain a NACI(T1) Public Trust Security Clearance. Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization. US Citizenship is required for facility credentials/authorization to work at this facility.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Extensive knowledge of environmental, health and safety regulations and requirements in DOD environment.
+ Ability to develop and present staff-level briefings and management reports.
+ Demonstrated experience with process improvement approaches.
+ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
+ Strong analytical skills.
**Washington: Compensation & Benefits:**
HIRING SALARY RANGE: $91,956.80 - $44.21 an Hour (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
