Environmental Specialist II Cruise Ship Operations

Position Purpose: Pay Rate: $16.50/Hour and it is paid on the weekly basis.  Overtime (OT) is offered based on business needs and it pays time and-a-half after 40 hours of work per week. Driver must have a good experience backing a tractor-trailer as we maneuver in very tight areas.  In addition, the driver needs to have experience with 18 or 24-Foot box trucks and roll-off flatbed trucks. Daily uniforms and working boots are provided free of charge. Work Schedule: Monday ~ Friday. The shift starts at 7:00am and ends at 4:00am (FIRST SHIFT).  The driver will work 5 days per week / 8 to 9 hours per day.  Two (2) days off.  Also, the driver could be asked to work an extra day depending on the business needs and weekly services.  Daily Services:  2 to 3 per day in Zona Portuaria de San Juan, P.R. This is a TOUCH-FREIGHT position and driver needs to be BILINGUAL in English and Spanish with the ability to read, write, and speak both languages as the new hire will need to communicate with cruise ships and cargo vessel customer representatives. 

 

The Environmental Specialist II Cruise Ship Operations is a technician Driver whom be responsible for providing industry leading levels of service to clients in the most professional way, ensuring that customers’ needs are met on a continual basis for various type of waste pickup and supply delivery. Provides the highest level of customer service possible at all times.  This involves loading and unloading the delivery vehicle and ensuring that all cargo is safely secured before transport. Will also transport waste stream from either a Stericycle location or customer location to a transfer location or processing location. DOT rules and regulations must be upheld at all times.

All Company assigned vehicles are equipped with camera telematics which includes inside and outside cameras.  In addition, all vehicles are equipped with ELD (electronic logging device) and GPS (global positioning system).

Key Job Activities: Manages assigned routes/ services ensuring customers’ waste is picked up in a safe, timely, efficient, and accurate manner. Provides services related to managing of hazardous waste, regulated, and non-hazardous waste. According to State, EPA & DOT regulations. This position is also responsible for the preparation of all appropriate and required documentation to meet State, EPA, DOT, DRNA, NTSP regulations. Ensures that customers have packaged and prepared the waste according to all federal, state, and local rules and regulations before transporting. Performs pre/post-trip checks, and driver check-in on the assigned truck, prior to leaving or closing for the day. Complete and maintain material logs when applicable. Communicates with Stericycle Supervisor regarding any change to service pickups, including address changes, customer not having waste ready for pickup, etc. Ensures waste, supplies, and material handling equipment are secured prior to operating vehicles on a public highway. Work Schedule: Monday through Friday and starting from 7:00am until duties are completed around 4:00pm and open to work an extra day on weekends based on business requirements. Perform other duties and responsibilities, as assigned. Education: Preferred Education: in High School DiplomaExperience: 2+ year of experience, preferably in driving a commercial motor vehicle or 18 and/or 24 Foot box trucks, vacuum trucks, roll-off flatbed, and tractors trucks to move trailers from landfills or ports. All CMV/CDL drivers must be able to obtain a Licensia de Comision de Servicio Publico issued by the NTSP agency.  Must be 21 years of age or older. Commercial Driver’s License Required: Categoria 8 or above, with an excellent driving record. Bilingual drivers are are highly desirable as they need to speak, read, and write in both languages to make entries on reports and to maintain records as required by federal regulation. In addition, to facilitate the communicate with customer representatives (Cruise – Cargo Vessels).  Certifications and/or Licenses: Commercial Driver's License A or B (CDL A or B)Benefits:
