Role description:

Arcadis is currently seeking a self-motivated, Environmental System Technician to support our Birmingham AL office’s growing environmental project portfolio. This position consists of 100% field work, with local travel to and from job sites. This position requires a hard-working, safe, efficient and dedicated employee that is excited to receive on the job training, working with a team, and able to work independently once trained. This position offers an opportunity to learn about a wide variety of environmental projects and work with a great team.

Role accountabilities:

Groundwater and soil remediation system operations, maintenance, and monitoring (OMM) Knowledge of various remediation system operation (AS/SVE, MPE, DPE), system equipment and maintenance associated with the systems/equipment (i.e. carbon change outs, air strippers, blowers, different pump types) Understanding of remediation system telemetry and primary logic controls Troubleshooting and optimizing remediation systems Completion of repairs to remediation systems Collection of environmental data from air, soil, and water during remediation events and during system operation Completion of small construction-type jobs such as concrete work, fence removal, HDPE/PVC piping construction Working with hand/power tools to change out pumps, fittings, flanges, filters and gauges Groundwater, soil, and/or surface water sampling Sampling associated with remediation systems (influent/effluent) and other types of compliance discharge sampling (i.e. NPDES) Subcontractor Oversight for field projects and remediation system installations Site Visits and Documentation Practice Safe Driving and possess a valid driver’s License Mechanical aptitude with the Willingness to work daily 95% in the field at project site. Option for overnight travel if interested in expanding project experience.

Qualifications & Experience:

Required Qualifications: 

3+ years of mechanical system Operations & Maintenance experience Previous experience operating, maintaining and monitoring remediation systems (AS/SVE, MPE, DPE) 40 Hour HAZWOPER certification Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

The salary range for this position is $52,000.00 - 78,000.00.
