Environmental Technician

Your Opportunity

You will be based in Billings Montana to perform field data collection and operate remediation equipment for a portfolio of remediation sites including refineries and bulk plants. This position will be mainly comprised of field work. 

Your Key Responsibilities
Plan and perform field data collection and review.
Perform remediation system operation and maintenance, data collection and review.
Perform site assessment activities.
Coordinate field activities and oversee subcontractors.
Assist in completion of technical reports and data management.
Actively participate in maintaining Stantec's safety culture.
Work in remote locations performing field data collection and review.
Travel will be required. Your Capabilities and Credentials
Must be comfortable working outdoors for extended periods of time and in remote locations.
Must be able to hike for extended periods of time and work outside during adverse weather conditions.
Must be conscientious, organized, and disciplined.
Build and maintain a productive professional and personal networking relationship within their technical team.
The ability to comply with strict safety protocols and procedures
The ability to use hand tools and lift up to 45 pounds
Excellent note taking skills, attention to detail, and an ability to work independently
Willingness and an ability to travel and stay overnight
Good driving record and valid driver’s license required.
Prior to employment, this position may require the successful passing of a pre-employment physical and drug screen.

Desired Qualifications: 

OSHA HAZWOPER 40-hour training
LPS training
Experience in data collection and remediation system operation related to environmental projects

Education and Experience
Technical degree/diploma/certificate in environmental sciences, geology or equivalent combination of education and experience. 
Minimum of 3-10 years’ experience in technical or environmental work

Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather such as extreme heat, cold, precipitation, and dry conditions.
