Job Title: Environmental Technician
Job Description

We are seeking an Environmental Technician with experience in environmental sampling and inspection. The role involves asbestos inspections, lead-based paint, mold, and radon inspections, with opportunities to explore new service lines such as noise assessments and air quality evaluations. This position requires a balance of fieldwork and office duties, expected to be approximately 50/50.

ResponsibilitiesConduct asbestos and lead-based paint surveys, mold and moisture investigations, noise assessments, and other industrial hygiene activities.Write technical reports.Prepare cost estimates and proposals.Work effectively with project teams, clients, and other stakeholders.Coordinate work schedules with subcontractors.Ensure health and safety stewardship, including local field visits.Perform regional travel for field visits up to 5-10% of the time.Essential Skills2+ years of experience in environmental sampling.Technical proficiency, especially in technical report writing.OSHA 40 certification.Hazwoper certification.EPA Inspector certification.Additional Skills & QualificationsBachelor's degree in industrial hygiene, a core science (such as geology, chemistry, physics, or biology), or a related area required.Possession of or working towards professional certifications such as CIH, CSP, or CHMM is desired but not required.Related work experience of at least 0-1 years for entry-level positions and approximately 3 years for mid-level positions.Prior experience or training in industrial hygiene investigations and applicable regulations is desirable.Strong written and oral communication skills.Proficiency in Microsoft applications such as MS Excel and MS Word, and the ability to learn other software applications.Willingness to work in the field and travel to complete work.Work Environment

Projects include work for the Department of Defense, National Guard Readiness Centers, and long-term partnerships with companies like Lockheed Martin. The role involves in-office inspections, field inspections, and occasional work from home. Typical work hours are 8-5 pm, with flexibility for emergencies or client deadlines. The environment is supportive of flexible hours for personal needs, provided they are communicated effectively. Weekly Monday morning meetings review projects, and staff members are expected to manage projects from the start, coordinating with administrative staff, labs, and equipment rental companies. The role involves extensive report writing, project management, client interaction, and field activities.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $50000.00 - $60000.00/yr.
