Environmental Technician
Job Description SummaryWorking with the Environment and Sustainability specialist and the site operations team, work to support and maintain 100% compliance with EHS regulatory requirements and associated procedures at all times. Promote and maintain a strong environmental culture.

Job DescriptionKey Responsibilities:

Assist Environment and Sustainability Specialist in ensuring compliance with GE requirements and UK legislation

Support the implementation of the EHS Framework and related specific topic elements, particularly relating to the environment

Participate in Environmental and sustainability campaigns and site improvements

Assist in communicating, and delivering site environmental and sustainability goals

Assist with report writing and data collection for Pollution Prevention and Control Permit

Support site compliance inspections and assist in EHS program evaluations

Contribute towards management of waste on site and drive waste minimisation initiatives

Support the Environment and Sustainability Specialist in the management of the site chemicals program, including COSHH, DSEAR, REACH and Chemical Storage

Support in driving energy, greenhouse gas/cost reduction initiatives

Assist in implementing programs for the recognition, evaluation, and control of physical and chemical hazards

Assist in continual development of best practice sharing and communication

Participate in EH&S meetings and leadership safety meetings

Essential Qualifications and Requirements:

IEMA Certificate in Environmental Management

NEBOSH Environmental Awareness

Demonstrate a knowledge of EHS Legislation

Strong oral and written communication, computer, and interpersonal skills

Ability to work as part of a team

Desired Requirements:

Demonstrate the ability to lead process improvements in a team environment

Chemical Process Management

Ability to prioritise workload and multitask

Desire to learn and develop

Requirement to be flexible to provide EHS support/training across shifts
