Environmental Technician Fuel Systems Inspector (NDEC Technician 1)
**Job Summary:** We are seeking an Environmental Technician Fuel Systems Inspector to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for inspecting fuel systems for compliance with environmental regulations and best practices. This role requires attention to detail, technical expertise, and a commitment to environmental stewardship. **Minimum Requirements:** + High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in environmental science or related field preferred + Previous experience in environmental compliance, fuel systems inspection, or a related field is advantageous + Knowledge of environmental regulations, particularly those related to fuel systems and storage tanks + Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately document inspection findings + Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team + Willing to work overtime if necessary to complete assigned Connecticut area sites. + Able to lift up to 10-50 lbs., capable of year-round outdoor activity. Job requires frequent kneeling,bending, handling, reaching and standing. + Driving a company vehicle comprises approximately 35% of weekly activities. + Self-motivated, individuals with good communication skills. + Petroleum or environmental background along with a history of working with hand tools a plus. + Ability to pass a drug screen and MVR is a must. Drug/alcohol screenings performed randomly post hire. **Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to:** + Petroleum Systems Inspectors perform a variety of visual inspections of Gasoline Service Stations and other fueling facilities. + These inspections include but are not limited to Spill Containment, Piping Sumps, Hanging Hardware and Record Keeping. + Major responsibilities will include Site personnel interaction + Removal of manhole lids and dispenser panels. + Producing accurate electronic based inspection reports, including photographs, on a company provided tablet, and safely operating a company owned motor vehicle. **Technical Requirements:** + IPad with proprietary software application used to complete inspections. + Atlas will provide training including acquiring the required state certifications.
