ASRC Federal Gulf States Constructors is seeking an Environmental Technician II to support activities under the Sheppard Air Force Base contract in Wichita Falls, Texas
Overview
Coordinates the Company's overall Environmental Plan with specific responsibility for environmental
quality standards. Assists Environmental Supervisor in developing specific environmental programs to
comply with applicable regulatory requirements as required. Develops site specific environmental
programs to comply with applicable regulatory requirements as required. Coordinates with state officials
in the development and execution of related permits. Will be required to manage one (1) or more
environmental programs including, but not limited to: Air, Mold, Toxic Substances (asbestos, Lead,
PCB’s), Water (wastewater, drinking water, storm water), Hazardous Waste, NEPA, Natural and Cultural
Resources, Solid Waste Management and Recycling, and Aboveground and Underground Storage Tanks.
1. Supports the Environmental Team in the development and monitoring of all Sheppard AFB
environmental programs to comply with Federal, State, local and military requirements. Act as
liaison with representatives of Base Safety, Fire Department, OSHA, and other government
organizations.
2. Responsible for coordinating state permits and registration tasks. Monitors trends to
identify environmental issues, problems or hazard areas, and recommend corrective action to
the Environmental Supervisor.
3. Supports the management of related environmental plans, data bases, and activities.
Participates in, attends, and chairs various environmental working groups, when needed.
4. Participates in quarterly meetings in support of the P2/Compliance Subcommittee and the
Environmental, Safety, and Occupational Health Council (ESOHC).
5. Supports all environmental training requirements in accordance with local, Federal, State,
and Air Force regulations and contractual requirements.
6. Supports the environmental team in the management of the Pollution Prevention (P2)
Program.
7. Supports the environmental team in the management of hazardous waste and solid waste
(i.e. florescent light bulbs, batteries) and aid in preparing these waste products for shipment.
Assists with Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) training to installation hazardous
waste accumulation site managers and other personnel as applicable.
8. Participates in the organization of the quarterly General Plan Environmental Assessment
working group. May be required to attend and participate in the AICUZ working group.
9. Escorts federal, state and local regulatory officials on base as they conduct various
compliance inspections.
10. Responsible for operating the Universal Waste Center daily as required by contract.
11. May be required to manage and/or assist with packaging and shipping of hazardous
wastes at the 90 day storage building.
12. May be required to conduct or manage/oversee field inspections of waste collection
points, storm water conveyances and other environmental related areas of concern.
13. May be required to manage the inventory in the spill supplies building and report the
status of the inventory to the Environmental Supervisor.
14. Manage and/or assists in spill response activities – not to exceed Level C PPE.
15. Other duties as assigned to meet Customer and Mission requirement
