Level One: Maintains the waste material containment area and the oil reclaim area by performing the following duties.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
Identifies, separates, consolidates, and labels all hazardous and non-hazardous wastes. Ensures all wastes are properly labeled including waste codes, dates, and appropriate dentification numbers.Implements Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan Best Management Practices including maintenance of waste storage areas and general plant area grounds consistent with Plan guidelines.Performs daily inspection of waste material containment area including a drum inventory and site conditions.Maintains Hilco unit making daily checks, replacing filters, keeping constant flow of oil cleaning and removing water from the system.Maintains a daily logbook for the unit that includes number of gallons of clean oil put back in system, number of gallons of dirty oil that has been added, level of dirty oil in reclaim tank, level of oil in clean tank, and levels of the top and bottom tanks of the Hilliard unit.Handles non-reclaimable oils by transferring non-AW32 oils to the oil/water separator tank; transferring the separated oil to the "Non-Reusable Oil" tank; taking samples of water prior to pumping into sewer; informs Engineering when level of non-reusable oil reaches a level to be removed.Keeps area clean and the ground free of oil, including waste material containment area and its trench; keeps drums of used absorbent segregated.Verifies that all waste drums do not exceed weight requirements, are closed and do not have standing oil or water on top of them.Keeps inventory of all die lubes and specialized oils in the containment area and places reorders when necessary.Serves as a point of contact for oil tanker pump-outs, trash and recycle pickups, and other environmental pickups or projects throughout the site.Performs sampling of dust, oil, water, storm water, or other chemicals, as required by various environmental programs.Takes meter reads for various equipment; makes minor repairs and changes filters on bag houses.Required Skills:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.Ability to apply concepts of introductory algebra and geometryAbility to solve practical problems and deal with various concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.Ability to interpret multiple instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.Hazardous Material Handling training certificate and licensed forklift operator.OSHA 1910.120 40 Hour HAZWOPER Certification.Experience & Education
