**POSITION DETAILS**
The State University of New York Brooklyn Educational Opportunity Center (BEOC), administered by New York City College of Technology/ CUNY, provides tuition-free academic and workforce development training to eligible New York State residents, offering a pathway to lifelong learning, college access and economic self-sufficiency. The BEOC is currently accepting applications for the position of EOC Academic Affairs Director.
Reporting to the Executive Director, the EOC Academic Affairs Director serves as the chief academic affairs officer of the BEOC. The Director is responsible for the overall development and delivery of high-quality instructional programs and learning support services of the Center, and for implementing policies and procedures to improve the delivery of those services. The EOC Academic Affairs Director serves as a member of the Center’s senior leadership team in both internal and external forums.
The duties of the position include but are not limited to the following :
+ Manage instructional and learning support staff and provide for staff development, training and retraining.
+ Assess instructional programs and curricula for effectiveness and currency, develop new programs, and recommend program changes or the discontinuation of nonviable programs.
+ Submission of annual program evaluations and instructional operational plans is expected.
+ Develop effective tools to assess departmental attainment of performance targets and assess performance outcomes.
+ Develop and implement methods to increase student completion rates, strengthen student competencies, and improve student outcomes.
+ Collaborate with offices across the institution, including but not limited to the Enrollment Office, Advisement Center, Student Records, Career Services, and College Connections.
+ Initiative to support student registration, career development, internship and placement efforts, and student access and outreach activities.
+ Develop and coordinate the academic calendar and create class schedules that best meet student curricular needs and demands.
+ Oversee the scheduling of appropriately credentialed instructors for classes and academic advisement by faculty members.
+ Develop partnerships with other organizations and articulation agreements with colleges.
+ In consultation with the Executive Director, develop and manage the department budget, and, where possible, research and secure external funding to support the mission of the Center.
+ Perform related duties as assigned.
The ability to work a flexible schedule is expected, as day, evening and/or weekend hours may be required.
**QUALIFICATIONS**
**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS**
Bachelor's Degree and eight years' related experience required.
**PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS**
+ Master’s or doctoral degree in an appropriate field.
+ Prior experience with educational opportunity programs and supporting high-need, culturally diverse populations is preferred.
+ A record of successful implementation of instructional and workforce preparation programs and a demonstrated commitment to student retention and success.
+ Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
+ Customer service orientation and the ability to work effectively with faculty, staff, students and external constituents is essential.
+ Proficiency in MS Office Suite applications is strongly preferred.
**CUNY TITLE OVERVIEW**
Reporting to the Executive Director, serves as the Chief Academic Officer for an Educational Opportunity Center (EOC).
- Establishes overall academic policy, and conducts planning and budgeting consistent with the EOC's mission
- Develops, administers, and evaluates all instructional programs and curricula based on an understanding of current academic and vocational research developments
- Hires, supervises, and evaluates all faculty and departmental support staff; actively develops opportunities for academic staff development and growth
- Maintains appropriate instructional records and accounts consistent with policy
- Develops, maintains, and coordinates faculty schedules and the academic calendar
- Serves as a member of the senior leadership team of the EOC, both internally and in outside forums
- Performs related duties as assigned.

**COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS**
$96,602-$124,656. Salary commensurate with education and experience.
