The Opportunity:
KBR is currently undertaking Expression of Interest applications for an Engineering Lead for various Maritime Programs in our Capability Sustainment and Modernisation operational unit.
You will be responsible for the delivery of Engineering Services and will plan, prioritise, coordinate, and direct engineering support services across numerous functional areas / engineering disciplines.
The Engineering Lead will hold a SQEP Engineering Delegation and execute risk based technical advice on sustainment activities in support of the Principal Engineer on the Products Being Supported.
Responsibilities:
The key responsibilities of the role will include, but is not limited to:
Ensure delivery of engineering support services in accordance with the requirements of the contractProvide expert engineering advice, subject matter expertise, and decision support to Defence executives, managers, staff, and industry partnersExercise technical oversight and assurance over all engineering activities via the lifecycle of systems engineering, configuration control, and material support processesProvide governance of technical certification of systems including compliance with standards, specifications and regulationsManage the required systems engineering lifecycle services including requirements determination, integration, verification and validations, test and evaluation, and safetyConduct integrated planning, scheduling, risk management and estimation of engineering activitiesMentor and advise fellow engineers to achieve milestones and objectivesMaintain financial awareness of budget and expendituresBuild and sustain collaborative working relationships with all staff and stakeholdersAs the ideal candidate you will bring:
Tertiary qualification in Engineering (within a relevant discipline)Strong Maritime backgroundExtensive experience in undertaking and managing designs within Defence or related technical industry (CASG/Defence/Defence Industry)Experience in taking responsibility for engineering decisions within a complex regulatory frameworkDemonstrated leadership and organisational skillsProject management qualifications/experience desiredThe ability to gain and maintain a NV-1 minimum Australian Government Security ClearanceAll candidates will be required to hold and maintain an active Negative Vetting 1 Defence Security Clearance. Only candidates holding a Baseline Clearance or above should apply.
