Position Description

A fantastic opportunity has arisen in the End of Line Test Facility for three Test Engineers, reporting to the End of Line Test Manager, to test to industry standards all new and existing Airedale products (Chillers, Ecotel, PAC and Small Systems), ranging from 2 – 2000Kw to determine all aspects of unit performance.  The successful candidates will be required to report on specific unit types – performance testing, providing accurate test reports, etc.

Key Responsibilities Ensure that all products are functionally tested in accordance with applicable Test Procedures. Recognise the ‘Voice of the Customer’ in everything we do by contributing to a proactive and preventive quality improvement culture within the EOLT department, underpinned by the spirit of continuous improvement. Perform structured fault-finding and troubleshooting. Concerns Logs – ensure that faults are recorded and reported to relevant departments (e.g. Product Development, Engineering, Commercial Controls, Manufacturing, etc).   Ensure that test documentation and records are correctly completed and retained for all units/ systems – e.g. Test Sheets.  Carry out customer End of Line Witness Tests and assist with noise tests. Involvement in DMAIC investigations and structured problem solving using DMAIC tools and methodologies for problems identified by external customer complaints and on-site concerns which involve a failure of EOLT to detect the fault(s) – ‘why not detect/ why shipped’. Undertake all aspects of testing requirements, specifically: Refrigeration performance testing Electrical component testing Mechanical/ electrical installations Testing design TD at required waterflows and pressure drops Building test rigs and providing test plans Housekeeping/ 5S standards – maintain a safe work environment in test bays and work areas at all times. Incident reporting – prompt reporting of hazards, near misses and property damage identified in the EOLT department. Contribute to risk assessments and safety investigations. Assist site works (e.g. Technical Support) and undertake potential project secondments when workloads in the department allow to develop skills and capability in the role.
  Required Education & Qualifications Electrical and mechanical knowledge of refrigeration and air conditioning equipment.  Computer and report writing skills essential. Capable of working unsupervised.  Ability to use own initiative. Knowledge of PAC, Ecotel, CU and Chiller products. Previous test experience will be of benefit but not essential as training will be provided. Basic Controls knowledge. Ability to be flexible and available for overtime (can be at short notice). Good communication skills. Completing test requirements on time – with accurate reporting data. Liaising with other departments including Manufacturing, Product Development, Engineering, Commercial Controls and R&D Test House. Achieving project targets on time. F-Gas certified. Positive attitude with a ‘can do’ mindset when faced with a challenge.
