The In-Home Respite Worker assists family members in maintaining the consumer at home. This includes relieving family members from basic self-help needs and other activities of daily living, including interaction, socialization, and continuation of daily routines that family members would ordinarily perform and/or facilitate.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintains confidentiality of all clientsPerforms duties and procedures, as assigned/directed, in an accurate and timely mannerSafeguards the client/patient by observing appropriate infection control procedures, including, but not limited to Universal PrecautionsNotifies the Company office of any abnormal findings or conditionsAdheres to standards and procedures of the Company’s In-Home Respite ServicesArrives at the client’s home on time, and leaves when shift schedule is completeRepresents Companion Services with a positive image at all timesDemonstrates flexibility and adaptability when meeting needsPerforms other duties as assigned/necessaryMinimum Requirements:
Education and experience in related duties preferredCommunity CPR training and First Aid Training required (see Lanterman Act, Title 17)Strong telephone and communication skillsValid Driver’s license if required to driveMust be at least 18 years of ageMay not be a parent, stepparent, or legal guardian of the consumerAbility to effectively elicit/provide information to and from appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors, co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills; proficiency in theEnglish language may be requiredComputer proficiency requiredMust be at least 18 years of ageMaxim Benefits:
