THE POSITION
Utilize your experience in public health investigations to become an Epidemiology Research Associate! The Department of Health’s Division of Community Epidemiology is seeking a hardworking and dedicated individual to join our team. The work you accomplish in this position will contribute to maternal and child health programs. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As an Epidemiology Research Associate, you will be responsible for developing, evaluating, and improving mixed method data collection and investigation methods. This will include using quantitative and qualitative research methods to build comprehensive understanding, explain statistical results in more depth, track the process of programs, and study maternal and child health outcomes. In this position, you will collaborate with other data and health program specialists to communicate and participate in the continual improvement of maternal and child health programs. You can expect to participate in investigations and studies that implement a social justice framework for collaborative health research, as well as invite community participation to address issues of health inequities. Additionally, you will assist in implementing and enhancing procedures for reporting data systems.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
+ Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
+ Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
+ Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.
+ Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
+ One year of professional experience performing public health or environmental health epidemiological investigations or studies, or designing and managing a disease surveillance system; and a master's degree that includes or is supplemented by six credits in epidemiology, environmental health, statistics, or research.
Other Requirements:
+ This position requires possession of at least two years of SAS or R programming experience independently writing code.
+ This position requires possession of at least two years experience performing public health or health related epidemiologic analyses.
+ PA residency requirement (https://www.employment.pa.gov/Additional%20Info/Pages/default.aspx) is currentlywaivedfor this title.
+ You must be able to perform essential job functions.
