The newly established Shreiber School of Veterinary Medicine of Rowan University (RowanSSVM) invites applications for a Clinical Instructor, Equine Podiatry

 

Successful candidates will play a pivotal role in the teaching, service, and research mission of RowanSSVM. Teaching responsibilities include designing, implementing, and delivering comprehensive preclinical and clinical instruction in equine podiatry to veterinary students.  Working with other SSVM faculty, the successful candidate will assist with instruction on equine handling and restraint, hoof anatomy, hoof pathology, gait analysis and therapeutic foot care for horses.  The role also involves active participation in education to external stakeholders including regional farriers and equine professionals as well as participation in clinical farrier services to patients of the SSVM.  Opportunities for collaborative research exist within the school, the broader University, and the veterinary community. Scholarly activities, including translational, clinical, or pedagogical research, are encouraged.

 

Qualified applicants must have extensive experiences as a practicing farrier. AFA Certification at the level of Journeyman is desirable.  Preference will be given to farriers with prior experience in academic veterinary medicine. The successful candidate must be legally authorized to work in the US. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.  Salary level and appointment rank will be commensurate with education and experience.

The Shreiber School of Veterinary Medicine is located on the Glassboro, New Jersey west campus, 22 miles southeast of Philadelphia. The Shreiber School of Veterinary Medicine plans to admit its first class of DVM students in 2025, pending accreditation approval. Facilities will include an academic teaching facility aimed at the delivery of pre-clinical training, a small animal teaching hospital, and a research facility.
