Position Summary & Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be part of a team who engage in producing, modifying and upgrading new and legacy production equipment, used for the manufacture of RF products. You will be part of a growing team who thrive on the challenge of producing bespoke equipment and working to high standards. The candidate will already have sound equipment/machinery design experience, and be willing to share with and learn from the existing team, adopting our methodologies. Due to the nature of security requirements, some of these posts will be reserved for sole UK nationals only.
The successful applicants responsibilities would include:
Producing designs for electrical & electronic equipment circuitry
Creating detailed technical drawings and schematics using CAD
Writing software for control and automation systems for bespoke equipment
Programming of Mitsubishi PLC ladder code using GX Works, GX Developer
Programming of predominantly Red Lion, occasionally Pro-face, Mitsubishi & Siemens HMIs
Programming of Eurotherm temperature controllers and data acquisition devices
Programming NI LabVIEW software for virtual front ends of equipment
Working with a high attention to detail and accuracy
Qualifications
Skill, experience or qualifications that will be essential:
Engineering qualifications such as HNC, Degree or equivalent
Ability to work from detailed technical specifications, drawings and manuals
Ability to work to deadlines and budgets
Quality checking of own work and others
Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills
Ability to work using own initiative with minimal supervision on technical aspects
Skill, experience and qualifications that are desirable:
Previous experience of working in a design & manufacturing environment
Experience with bespoke machinery and one-off prototype/concept work
Knowledge of other engineering areas; electrical, mechanical, gases, pneumatics, hydraulics etc.
Experience with visual and text based coding
Use of Autodesk PDMC; AutoCAD Electrical, Inventor 3D and others
Experience of programming and software creation for machine control and process automation
Understanding of SCADA systems in a manufacturing environment
