Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Works with Epitaxy growth and fabrication engineers/scientists to identify ideas and requirements for modified, upgraded or new process equipment. Works with Epitaxy growth and fabrication engineers/scientists to reach agreements on designs, costs, resource plans and timelines for high priority process equipment projects. Collaborates with technical staff in the design and development of improved process equipment. Performs detailed design and development tasks of new systems Assists in the documentation of new equipment designs, processes and procedures in accordance with quality management system. Leads the troubleshooting, problem identification, and corrective action process when Epitaxy growth equipment is not performing to specification or end-user expectation. Develops and improves new and existing process control schema, including automation equipment, I/O subsystems, sensors, transducers, hardware and software. Work with internal scientists/engineers as well as vendors to determine optimal device requirements and specifications. Develops and improves new and existing network infrastructure systems, and database interface systems. Participate in Epitaxy equipment Preventive Maintenance and cleaning of SiC coated parts. Participate in Gas Cylinder changes. Participates at a high level in the implementation and improvement of preventative maintenance program activities for all WBG equipment and facilities.Education & Experience
BS (ME or EE) in Engineering Minimum of 1 year equipment automation support (both software and hardware) in a semiconductor wafer manufacturing environment. Experience with problem analysis and resolution Demonstrated ability to achieve results independently or working with others Ability to recommend and implement improvements Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Experience with networked PC based computer system (MS Office, spreadsheets, access, graphics, Email, MRP systems, and accounting software)Skills
General knowledge and hands-on experience in the procurement, installation, networking, startup, operation and maintenance of electronic instruments, I/O subsystems, controllers, and computers in an electronic or optical materials environment Demonstrated capability to solve problems that occur during the development of new equipment and procedures Commitment to developing and maintaining ISO-9000 compliant activities Ability to work with employees and within organizational disciplines when quality issues must be addressed and resolved. Ability to handle multiple priorities involving external and internal priorities Ability to excel in a cross-organizational, cross cultural, global team environment Handle special assignments promptly and professionally Set a high standard of ethics, professionalism, leadership, and competency Due to ITAR compliance, this position requires candidates to be a U.S. Citizen, Permanent Resident Alien, or Protected Individual per 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)Safety Requirements
