Performs electrical and/or mechanical troubleshooting to determine problems in non-functioning electro-mechanical equipment used in the manufacturing process. Dismantles, adjusts, repairs and assembles equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, operating or repair manuals, rough sketches or drawings. Uses test and diagnostic equipment to perform checkouts. Rebuilds manufacturing equipment as required. May perform equipment modifications as directed by equipment engineers.

Key Responsibilities:

•Perform preventive maintenance on, and troubleshoot to root cause/repair wafer fab equipment.
•Participate in shift pass down activities with incoming and outgoing shifts.
•Work with Process and Equipment engineering and other cross functional groups to resolve maintenance issues, improve equipment reliability, review procedures, and minimize equipment downtime.
•Support continuous improvement activities for throughput and yield enhancements.
•Participate in spare part analysis and inventory development. 
•Assist in equipment upgrades and the installation and startup of new equipment. 
•Member of the Lumentum MERTeam.
•Perform other duties and tasks as assigned by maintenance supervisor.

Success Indicators:
•Effective communicator both verbally and written.
•Work effectively as an individual contributor and with other groups and business units.
•Excellent troubleshooting skills. 
•Extensive knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing equipment.
•Able to read and interpret mechanical and electrical schematics and drawings.
•Able to work and take directions from written and verbal instructions.
•Familiar with the use and operation of shop tools, electronic test equipment, leak detectors, RGA's, rough vacuum pumps, high vacuum pumps and other associated equipment
•Able to pass respirator medical clearance testing

 Basic Qualifications:
•Minimum H.S. Diploma, GED or equivalent.
•Minimum 10+ years directly related experience in wafer fab, manufacturing or like setting

Preferred Qualifications:
•AS degree in a related discipline preferred or an equivalent combination of experience
