Equipment Maintenance Technician Staff

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

Able to take on facility related projects: Research Develop Design Computer skills Work with Contractors and associates Estimating Purchasing Meeting deadlines Troubleshoot: Electronics Electrical Mechanical Plumbing Vacuum Systems Assemble: Electronics Electrical Plumbing Vacuum Systems Test Benches  Fixtures Knowledge of controls Programing equipment controllers such as ovens, cleaning systems and small equipment a plus General Maintenance Lifting Climb ladders Hang signs Repairing lights Floor repair Wall repair Clean up spills Paint Unclogging Toilets & sinks   Work well with others and works well with hands mechanically

Education & Experience

Education or technical training in related fields for building maintenance through a recognized technical trade school or equivalent, accredited college or university may substitute for up to two (2) years of the required experience typically acquiring an AA degree.

 

Minimum #3 yr. experience Facility Maintenance

Skills

Identifies and corrects building/equipment issues. Works on assignments that are extremely complex in nature where independent action and a high degree of initiative are required in resolving problems and developing recommendations.  Acts independently to determine methods and procedures on new assignments and may supervise the activities of other nonexempt personnel. Performs duties in the fields of electrical, electronics, controls programing, plumbing, mechanical, vacuum systems or (HVAC is a plus).  Ability to read and analyzes electrical circuits, wiring ladder diagrams, interpret blueprints, maintenance manuals and engineering sketches.  Ability to utilize complicated drawings and specifications, advanced mathematics and a variety of precision measuring instruments. Performs equipment installs, repairs, calibrations service, replaces electrical devices and power generation devices. Testing electrical components and taking equipment readings with various handheld tools, meters or recording devices to determine appropriate repairs.  Computer skills of many common programs and the ability to search and research products, equipment, manuals, part purchasing and good communication skills a must need.  May be required to respond to 24-hour emergency calls for assigned work areas to perform emergency building or equipment repairs during off-duty hours.  Repairs, replaces or installs plumbing systems and components (water, sewer and drain lines, valves, faucets, etc.) by using appropriate materials and tools (various types of piping, fittings, valves, tanks, pipe wrenches, cutters, adhesives etc.). Removes blockages to restroom/kitchen facilities to restore the flow and drainage of wastewater and products using appropriate tools and materials.  Performing installation, preventative maintenance, inspection, repair and replacement of various equipment and floor & wall repair.  Respond to emergency situations in an efficient and timely manner to effect immediate repairs. Communicate orally with team members, co-workers, employees, contractors and vendors to obtain and provide useful information. Working Conditions

Indoors climate controlled throughout building.

Physical Requirements

Safety Requirements

Maintains equipment in a safe condition preventing degradation of property and systems failures that would cause reduction in safety, service and production output. Follows safety standards in working within the multiple services, such as Electrical safety standards NFPA70E LOTO & Ark flash, Chemical Hazmat regulations for hazardous materials handling and wastewater management. Ability to work safely with many hand tools, machines, mechanical equipment, pneumatic equipment, electrical equipment and power tools.
