Power Generation and Heavy Industry Markets + Safety is a top business priority and commitment driven by top management throughout the company with a full-time safety department. + Project management and project controls combine with a professional approach to complete our projects safely, on time, and within budget. + Union Building Trades Crafts employed include boilermakers, pipefitters, ironworkers, laborers, millwrights, operating engineers, electricians, carpenters, teamsters, and cement masons. + Full-service boiler repair and maintenance for the industrial and power generation sectors. Complete boiler and associated equipment installation and repair. Refractory repair/replacement. + Installation and repair of pollution control equipment such as scrubbers, precipitators, fabric filters, and ancillary equipment. + Foundations, steel erection, equipment setting, and precision alignment, piping, electrical and instrumentation. Rigging/setting and assembly of plant equipment. + Largest employer of boilermakers, pipefitter, ironworker, electricians and millwright crafts in the nation. + Maintains ASME and NBIC Accreditation for PP, S, U, U2, and R stamps. + Numerous Maintenance Agreement/Alliance Contracts in force in our region. + Specialize in 24/7 service to meet the customer’s needs. + 150,000 square feet of shop fabricating and machining facilities and specialized equipment.Specialized focus on fabrication, installation, and welding of special/exotic alloy metals for the chemical and power generation industries such as duplex stainless steel, and high chromium/high nickel alloys. + Fulltime Quality Control Group for both field and shop work, including personnel certified by AWS and ASNT for various types of NDE. Commercial and Institutional Markets : In addition to the Power Generation and Heavy Industrial markets, Sterling Industrial provides new construction and maintenance services for the Building Construction and Institutional market sectors. We have performed new construction work for pre-engineered buildings, concrete foundations, structural and ornamental installation, plumbing, electrical, and architectural finish work on commercial/institutional applications such as offices, banks, stores/malls, schools, churches, and warehouses. Additionally, we provide maintenance and repair services for the same type of facilities. Skilled craftsmen are employed in providing these services including carpenters (form and finish), laborers, cement finishers, ironworkers, plumbers, and electricians. Required Skills Position Summary: Experienced mechanic adept at diagnosing and repairing a wide range of equipment issues. Skilled in conducting thorough inspections, utilizing advanced diagnostic tools, and implementing efficient solutions to ensure optimal performance and customer satisfaction. Key Tasks and Responsibilities + Repair or overhaul mobile mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment. + Diagnose faults or malfunctions to determine required repairs, using diagnostic equipment and calibration devices. + Dismantle and reassemble heavy equipment. + Examine parts for damage or excessive wear. + Adjust, maintain, and repair or replace subassemblies. + Operate and inspect equipment in order to diagnose defects. + Overhaul and test machines or equipment to ensure operating efficiency. + Performs other related duties as required. + Clean parts by spraying with grease solvent or immersing in tanks of solvent. + Clean, lubricate, and perform other routine maintenance work on equipment. Skills and Abilities + Repairing machines or systems using the needed tools + Determining the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job. + Performing routine maintenance on equipment and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed. + Watching gauges, dials or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly. + Considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one . + The ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong. It does not involve solving the problem, only recognizing there is a problem.
