This position provides regular servicing, maintenance, and repairs to heavy equipment and tools.

Benefits: Benefits Available and Vary per position and location Essential Functions & Responsibilities: Handles all necessary repairs including the replacement of worn or damaged parts. Provides regular servicing including using jacks, cranes, and various handheld tools to dismantle and reassemble areas of heavy equipment. Makes adjustments to engines, as well as any additional assemblies such as gear transmissions and hydraulic. Examines critical parts and operating components of heavy equipment for possible wear and tear, defects, or other damage with the use of specialized tools, and trained eyes and ears. Tests equipment and machines on a regular schedule to ensure things are operating efficiently and safely. Cleans all components using approved solvents formulated for heavy equipment. Checks for components and parts that need to be welded and then, with a gas or electric welder, perform the work. Minimum Qualifications: Must be 18 years of age or older. Must be able to safely drive an approved company vehicle. Experience working on and/or repairing Hydraulic systems on fleet vehicles preferred. Must be able to operate the type of machinery being worked on. Education & Experience Automotive Service Excellence Mechanics Certification (A.S.E Certification) preferred. Certification for Fleet Repairs / Maintenance preferred. Certification for Welding preferred. Certification for Aerial Device Repairs / Maintenance preferred. Pre-Screen Upon offer, employees may be required to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen, background, and/or MVR check. License & Certifications: Driver license required. Commercial Driver License (CDL) preferred. Class B CDL or Higher with Air Brake Endorsement. Travel Requirements: Must have transportation to and from the show-up location. Physical Requirements: RARE (less than 10%): walking, sitting, climbing poles, climbing ladders, climbing stairs. OCCASIONAL (up to 33%): kneeling, crawling, speaking clearly, climbing on/off truck, reading, hearing-speech range, color vision, carrying, pushing, pulling, lifting up to 50 lbs. FREQUENT (up to 66%): standing, stooping, squatting, body twisting, sense of touch, manual dexterity, seeing distant, gripping, lifting over 10 lbs. to 50 lbs., reaching, range of motion, depth perception, balancing. CONTINUOUS (up to 100%): seeing, lifting, lifting up to 10 lbs. Safety

Due to the inherently dangerous nature of the industry and requirements to work with or around hazardous equipment, employees must have sufficient eyesight to judge distance/coordination of equipment and tools, be able to maintain attention and concentration for extended periods, be able to withstand exposure to all kinds of weather while completing work assignments, be able to wear personal protective equipment as necessary, be able to enter and exit a vehicle numerous times a day, have the endurance necessary to traverse various terrain, be capable of performing job duties throughout a standard 8- or 10-hour day, be able to communicate with others, read, write, and comprehend written/verbal job instructions and information, and communicate and handle conflict professionally.
