Description

Position Summary This position is responsible for safely and efficiently operating a variety of off-road vehicles and heavy equipment utilized in Mining. The equipment operator will be responsible for operating various pieces of equipment in the quarry, including the water truck, haul truck, dozers, loaders, and excavators.  Hours: Monday-Friday: 7 AM - 5 PM Wilson Quarry4063 Old Black Creek RoadWilson, NC 27893

Responsibilities Operates a variety of off-road vehicles and heavy equipment within the company guidelines and safety standards Completes daily pre and post inspection of working areas and ensures they are equipped with adequate berms and roadways Performs pre-shift safety inspection on equipment and reports needed repairs to the supervisor Ensures safe operations around conveyors, surge piles and crushers Performs daily preventative maintenance - tire pressure, oil, grease, diesel fuel, hoses for leaks and all moving parts for proper function Maintains safe traffic flow throughout the siteAides in the training of co-workers as needed Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor Requirements Must be safety conscious, dependable, and motivated Will take an active role in the plant safety initiativesWilling to work overtime and weekends as neededWilling to cross-train in different areas of production Education & Experience High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience to perform the responsibilities associated with this positionExperience in the maintenance and operation of mobile equipment and/or equipment used processing plantsExperience in operation and maintenance of off-road vehicles and heavy equipment preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Able to work cooperatively with others toward a shared goal, contribute actively to the team efforts, and possess a positive attitude in working with others as a teamPossess effective coordination and communication skills Possess strong mechanical aptitude, knowledge, and skillsAble to handle multiple projects simultaneously and to perform duties with minimal supervisionAble to work varying shifts as needed, outdoors, in varying weather conditionsAble to adhere to MSHA guidelines and plant safety rules and regulationsAble to ensure a safe work environment by prioritizing safety, then quality, followed by productionAbout Martin MariettaMartin Marietta is an American-based company and a leading supplier of building materials - including aggregates, cement, ready mixed concrete, and asphalt.
