Position SummaryThe Equipment Operator would be responsible for operating plant mobile heavy equipment including haul truck, loader, water truck, etc. to bring raw materials from pit to plant safely and efficiently at maximum loading capacity.
Essential Functions
Must be able to or willing to learn to operate all other mobile equipment, including haul truck, water truck, and loader.Assist in plant repairs and clean-up.Perform pre-shift safety inspection on equipment.Perform preventative maintenance and service mobile equipment. Report needed repairs to shop personnel.Responsible for good housekeeping of equipment.Adhere to MSHA and plant safety rules and regulations.Perform duties with minimum supervision.Minimum Education and ExperienceHigh school diploma or GED equivalent required.1 year experience operating heavy mobile equipment. Maintenance, Welding, Military or Material Handling ExperienceRequired Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesMust be able to read the equipment operating manual.Must be able to complete pre-shift inspection reports.Must be able to communicate in English on radio or CB.Possess basic mathematical aptitude to complete daily reports.Must be able to wear all required safety equipment.Must be able to perform duties safely.Must be able to read and interpret gauges.Proven ability to work in a TEAM environment.Must be able to operate 980 and 988 LoadersWorking ConditionsThe job will require operating large equipment which is typically air conditioned. There will be times when outside assignments that may require periods of work in all weather conditions-heat, cold, wet or dry. Salary Posting:We are excited to share the base range for this position is $25.00 - $33.00, exclusive of benefits or bonuses (discretionary and non-discretionary). The offered base hourly compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, business need, market conditions, proficiencies, skills, education, and experience. Additionally, at Martin Marietta we place a high value on internal pay equity and will consider the compensation for those in similarly situated roles and direct team members. The posted range for this role represents the total reasonable pay range and does not solely represent a hiring range. Therefore, hiring at the top or maximum of the range should not be expected as it would not allow for salary growth opportunities in the role, would diminish promotion value, and may not align with internal equity. In addition to our base compensation, we also offer a competitive benefits package for full time employees (more information on benefits listed below).
