Job Description
Under the immediate direction of supervisor, the Equipment Operator safely operates plant mobile heavy equipment to include haul truck, motor grader, water truck, crane, etc. to bring raw materials from pit to plant in a safe and efficient manner at maximum loading capacity. Other plant operation duties may be assigned. This is a Dayshift position (typical schedules are 6:00am - 6:00pm); however, schedules are subject to change, depending on business need
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High school diploma, GED or equivalent experience Working knowledge of heavy construction equipment2 years’ experience operating heavy mobile equipment preferredExperience with a variety of hand toolsKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Must be able to work 12 hour shifts, possible weekends, overtime, and holidays as neededMust be able to read equipment operating manualMust be able to complete pre-shift inspection reportMust be able to communicate over CB radio or with hand signals and warning sounds, with coworkers regarding movement of vehicles and mobile equipmentPossess basic mathematical aptitude to complete daily reportsMust be able to wear all required safety equipmentMust be able to perform duties in a safe mannerMust be able to read and interpret gaugesProven ability to work in a TEAM environmentMust be able to work irregular shifts and work days/nights and weekendsMust be able to wear all required safety equipmentPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
WORKING CONDITIONS
Larger equipment is typically air conditioned. There will be times when outside assignments may require periods of work in all weather conditions-heat, cold, wet or dry and dusty. Must be able to work in areas where noise levels are up to 85 dBs.
