Equipment Operator/Foreman
We’re hiring an equipment operator/foreman to support the Superintendent(s) and all other field managers by operating and maintaining various equipment and by using hand tools to facilitate grading, drainage operations and all other facets of earthwork operations in addition to loading/staging of various materials on site. WHAT YOU’LL DO + Operate an All-Terrain Forklift, Excavator, skid steer, backhoe, vibratory compactor, plate compactor and other equipment as necessary to support your direct report and other superintendent(s) + Perform routine maintenance on all site equipment which includes all equipment above and in addition all excavation equipment + Inspect all equipment and document prior to each use. + Use hand tools i.e. shovel, rake, pick, etc. as necessary to complete the scope + Use laser levels and site levels to complete grading and earthwork operations as necessary + Assist the line crew in digging ditches and trenches, hoisting material, tools, equipment and any related work with various trucks + Listen and follow directions carefully + Work at a high level of accuracy and efficiency; coordinate to ensure all tasks are completed on time + Participate in quality control and be accountable for all work and results + Strive to continually learn and develop new skills and capabilities + Always comply with safety regulations and requirements + Maintain a safe, clean and organized job site: pick up all tools and equipment, and secure job site each day + Demonstrate discretion and treat all proprietary company information as strictly confidential outside (and in some cases inside) the company + Complete any additional tasks required by the superintendent(s)   WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED + Ability to comprehend layout of baselines and machinery positions + Comprehension of weights of equipment and rigging tools + Skilled at operating various aforementioned equipment and willing to acquire any required certifications + Skilled at operating devices to establish and set grades, elevations, etc. + Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively in English, with a wide variety of people + Be a team player and foster a positive and constructive attitude environment onsite + Exhibit good manners, respect for the team, subcontractors and clients + Consistently work toward a high level of accuracy and efficiency + Continually learn and develop new skills and capabilities + Advocate for safety in action and attitude; reinforce awareness to reduce risk of injury to self and others + Possess technical and working knowledge of building methods and construction practice + Possess basic knowledge of safety and health procedures (ongoing safety training provided) + Ability to manage stress and maintain composure in challenging situations + Demonstrate accountability + Must work in a collaborative way with all team members. + Must be able to work while wearing personal protective equipment + Must be able to read and understand safety instructions, signs, labels and permits + Must have reliable transportation to get to and from work safely and on time + Must complete or already have acquired the appropriate safety training commensurate with the position and location + Valid driver’s license, occasional driving of a company vehicle may be required for this position + Crane Operator Certification is a plus but not required + CDL license is a plus but not required + US Work Authorization WHAT WE OFFER We are a fun, easygoing bunch of professionals who take a lot of pride in the work we do.
