The Production Manager serves in a key leadership role and is responsible for directing and managing daily production activities to ensure that customer and company requirements are met. This role champions organizational culture and employee development while driving operational excellence in safety, quality, scheduling, attendance, and process improvement.
Primary Responsibilities:
The successful applicant will oversee the assembly team’s daily work assignments, production quality, while driving continuous improvement and safety excellence through coaching of technical, behavioral, and housekeeping competencies to deliver high quality productsIdentify, support, and develop talent to maximize individual, team and organizational effectiveness in meeting company goals. This includes selecting and on-boarding talent, communicating effectively to foster a culture of engagement, cascading vision, creating goal alignment; and coaching through feedback, development planning and performance management.Manage capacity requirements and efficiencies with an emphasis on improving methods and quality while reducing costs and operating safely. Ensures quality processes will be consistently employed at the production cells.Maintain focus on continuous improvement by applying 80/20, PLS, and USa principles/techniques.Perform duties in a self-directed team environment that encourages strategic change management and innovative thought processes. Ensure high levels of communication between all functions at facility.Promote safety culture by engaging self and employees in reporting safety hazards and by suggesting and implementing preventive and corrective measuresAdditional responsibilities as assigned.QualificationsHigh school degree or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree in in business administration, operations management, engineering, or related field strongly preferred5+ years operations experience in a fast-paced, high volume manufacturing environment with 3+ years direct leadership experience in an empowered team environmentExceptional leadership skills, including collaboration, problem-solving, employee engagement/motivation, conflict resolution and delegationStrong communication, interpersonal, and influencing skillsAbility to demonstrate a continuous improvement mindsetProficiency in MS Office Suite and project managementPrevious ERP experience preferredTravel 10%Additional Information
