Equipment Project Manager - Fort Myers/Tampa

Job Summary:

Trane has a new exciting opportunity to join our organization as an Equipment Project Manager in our Tampa, FL Commercial Sales Office!  You will manage all aspects of equipment projects, from beginning to end, with direct responsibility for project execution while working with a team to accomplish specific objectives in a given time frame and with available resources. Trane always focuses on a total solution to provide our customers with the most energy efficient buildings! 

You will be responsible for the administration, implementation, and management of projects and accountable for assigned project’s scope of work, schedule, and budget.  Must have great communication skills, organizational skills, follow up and strong ability to multitask on different tasks and computer systems.  The ideal candidate is self-motivated, will have a strong sense of urgency, and learn quickly through hands on/job shadow training with ability to learn in a fast paced, high volume environment.  Experience in financial management/project budgeting required.  Construction industry experience preferred.Job Details: 

Please Note: This is not a traditional Construction Project Manager position-- this position will be based in-office, and does not entail travel to job sites or to customers.  This is not a technical position, but administrative and financial in nature.  You would be managing the daily tasks of given projects working closely with internal and external customers.  

Work Type: This position is eligible for a Hybrid work schedule, which entails working in the office on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.

Where is the work:  

This position is eligible for a Hybrid work schedule-- meaning you will work in the Tampa office on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. 
Responsibilities: 
Performs construction schedule review to meet customer requirements. Generates ship status reports to provide detail of product lead times and overall project status.Coordinates selection, pricing, & integrates equipment, controls, & services for each project.Responsible for creating detailed cost estimates. Resolves major deviations from scope w/ team after Project Scope Validation.Responsible for maintaining the accuracy of the forecasted cost at completion.Creates & makes revisions to project schedules, including: generating tasks, estimates, dependencies & milestones. Responsible for the preparation of Trane material & vendor orders; recording the receipt of materials & approving payments.Responsible for entering equipment orders & issuing purchase orders for vendor orders.Generates work orders for equipment start-ups.Responsible for project cash-flow management: progress billing, collections support & monitoring, & resource management.Responsible for working with customers, warehouses and claims to handle freight damaged equipment or missing freight.Maintains customer satisfaction by investigating concerns, implementing corrective action, & communicating w/ customers & assigned staff.Responsible for the successful transition of warranty to the service process.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in finance or business management with 3-5 years of experience in project management or construction management preferred.Working knowledge of all facets of construction including mechanical, electrical, plumbing systems and knowledge with the operation of HVAC systems, electrical systems and temperature controls.Financial management/Budgeting background required.Experience with Microsoft software, Teams and ability to quickly learn proprietary software.Base Pay Range: $55,000 - $65,000 annually.  Total compensation for this role will include a local incentive plan.  This base pay range is based on US National Averages.  Actual base pay could be a result of seniority, merit, or geographic location where the work is performed.  #LI-Hybrid
