The primary purpose of this position is to provide Equipment Specialist expertise in assigned equipment area(s). The incumbent manages the industrial plant equipment (IPE) maintenance program for the Depot Maintenance Activity Group (DMAG). Also provides leadership and guidance to lower grade workers accomplishing segments of this assigned area of responsibility. Responsibilities 1. Participates in collecting, analyzing, interpreting, and developing equipment performance specialized information systems and components. 2. Assist and participates the activities of the organization, ensuring that logistics workforce management related operations comply with legal and regulatory requirements and meet customer needs. 3. Participates in special logistics workforce related operation projects and initiatives and performs special assignments. 4. Represents the organization with a variety of installation and functional area organizations. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications In order to qualify, you must meet the general experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions, to include the Individual Occupational Requirements (IOR) for the GS-1670, Equipment Services Series. BASIC REQUIREMENT OR INDIVIDUAL OCCUPATIONAL REQUIREMENT (IOR): (Specialized Experience (for positions above GS-5): Examples of qualifying specialized experience include: Working as a skilled mechanic or maintenance worker, sales or service engineer, or planner or estimator in a technical group dealing with manufacture, utilization, repair, or operation of equipment; reviewing and applying technical specifications and requirements; analyzing equipment and forecasting spare parts requirements; reading and interpreting engineering change orders, equipment requisitions, shop orders, and work orders; analyzing contract specifications and examining pertinent equipment to determine if specifications are met; analyzing or supervising maintenance, repair, or production operations to determine methods of improvement. In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of general experience at the next lower broadband NH-01, equivalent to the next to lower grade GS-04 or equivalent in the Federal Service. General experience may include assisting with compiling, maintaining, and/or revising designations of the tools, parts, and/or components necessary for the operation/repair of mechanical systems and/or vessels; assisting with developing goals and objectives that integrate organization and related objectives. OR EDUCATION: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: NOTE: You must submit a copy of your transcripts. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: 1. Knowledge and skill in applying analytical and evaluative techniques for the identification, consideration, and resolution of issues or problems concerning efficiency and effectiveness of the program and/or strategic sourcing. 2. Knowledge of overall missions, functions, and organization of the agency or component. Ability to apply the knowledge to evaluate current organizational strategies and performance. 3. Knowledge of organizational concepts, principles, and practices as related to the requirements for performance-based logistics, acquisition., supply maintenance, procurement procedures, manufacturing, strategic sourcing, and other support areas.??????? 4. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, clearly, concisely, and with accuracy, and maintain good working relations with all individuals and organizations. 5. Ability to work with, lead, and manage various groups or individuals to resolve difficult problems/situations as related to organizational issues. Ability to understand and deploy lean concepts in problem resolution. 6. Skill in interpreting and applying complex DOD, USAF, AFMC, and AFSC regulations, methods, operating procedures, and policies, as well as developing methods and operating procedures as required. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
