Summary:
The role of the Equipment Specialist (ES) is to provide customer support by assisting customers in the safe and effective use of infusion pumps through training and education; troubleshooting equipment problems via telephone or on-site visits; and by providing information regarding new products and services offered by BDISTS. The ES also provides clinical product specialists with technical assistance when needed, maintains records of customer interactions, and ensures compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements. Respond to calls and emails received from customers inquiring about BDISTS’ products, including their safe and effective use, basic maintenance and cleaning procedures, and any reported adverse events. The ES must possess detailed knowledge of BDISTS’ products and related accessories, as well as competitor’s products, in order to provide accurate and helpful advice.

Assist customers in resolving equipment problems through on-site visits or telephone consultations. The ES must have adequate technical knowledge to diagnose and repair basic equipment malfunctions, while also being aware of limitations and knowing when further intervention is required. In some cases, the ES may need to travel outside of normal working hours or overnight to respond to emergency situations.

Maintain complete and accurate records of customer interactions, including call logs, visit reports, complaint files, and equipment service histories. The ES should utilize these records to track customer usage patterns, identify recurring problems, and generate leads for new business opportunities.

Comply with all relevant regulatory requirements, such as FDA regulations, OSHA guidelines, and local health department rules and regulations. The ES must stay informed of changes in regulations and take appropriate actions to ensure continued compliance.

Provide technical assistance to clinical product specialists as needed. This includes setting up equipment for demos, testing and evaluating new products, and providing input on product design and functionality.
