Coyote Trails is a 9-hole gem hidden under Mingus Mountain near Cottonwood Az. We are looking for a qualified Golf Course Mechanic who has the desire to help in all aspects of our maintenance program., both in the Shop and on the Course.
The position is a full-time, year-round position. $21-$25 DOE
An Equipment Technician reports to the golf course superintendent and/or the assistant golf course superintendent and oversees a comprehensive preventative maintenance program. This program includes the repair of failing equipment, keeping records of parts that need to be maintained and on each piece of equipment, and placing orders for parts and supplies needed for equipment or service. The equipment tech properly communicates any needs or problems relating to the maintenance or repair of equipment to the superintendent and/or the assistant superintendent. The equipment tech places safety as a top priority and is responsible for maintaining a clean service area and maintenance building. Responsibilities will also include helping with all aspects of course maintenance as needed and instructed by Superintendent.
Experience/Skill Requirements:
Working knowledge of grinding and reel setup or ability to learn quickly. Working knowledge of both gas (4-cycle & 2-cycle) and diesel equipment repair and maintenance Ability to diagnose electrical and hydraulic issues Maintain a preventative maintenance program Ability to lift 50 pounds Ability to diagnose mechanical problems and determine appropriate repairs Ability to work in an organized manner to complete repairs or pm within an appropriate time line Computer knowledge for inputting PM and repairs records a plus Communicate effectively, keep clean shop and equipment and work in a team environment Must have a valid driver’s licensePrimary Responsibilities:
Inspects, diagnoses, and repairs mechanical defects/failures in various golf course maintenance equipment including, diesel, electric, and gasoline-powered sweepers, rollers, mowers, and other mechanical equipment. Inspects and maintains high quality of cut on mowing reels. Instructs and/or trains golf course maintenance workers regarding preventative maintenance, and the proper cleaning of and safe operation of equipment. Prioritizes equipment repair and maintenance work Maintains a preventative maintenance program within budget on all equipment and purchases repair parts and replacement supplies Keeps a complete set of records for equipment and parts inventory purchases, equipment conditions, costs of repairs and preventative maintenance for all equipment Spot checks equipment for performance on the courses, frequently makes emergency repairs to equipment on the course, and services or supervises servicing of equipment prior to use. Other equipment maintenance needs as directedSecondary Responsibilities include:
Performs ground maintenance tasks: mow greens, tees, fairways and roughs Operate Weed-eaters, and blowers Setting cups and preparing course for play Plant trees and shrubs, maintain flower beds, weed control, and leaf removal Prunes trees and shrubs Perform Light irrigation duties (hand water, clean heads, make repairs Other duties to be assignedWorking Conditions
