Equities Non-Financial Risk Officer

As our Equities Non-Financial Risk Officer, you will oversee the non-financial risk and conduct framework within the Equities Markets business, supporting the business by owning and ensuring effective execution of global governance, assurance, conduct and non-financial risk standards

As our Equities Non-Financial Risk Officer you will:

Conduct:Assist in driving the conduct agenda for the Americas Equities businessPartnership and support of the business when discharging their Front Office Supervisory responsibilitiesProvide independent counsel and stewardship to the businessPartnertship with the Central NFR specialist teams to ensure consistent and effective embedding of conduct initiativesControl :Review new policies and standards for and on behalf of the region and global teamAssist in managing the regional control frameworkAssist in ensuring effective remediation actions in place for key issues for the business and track mitigationMonitor the operating effectiveness of the Equities E-Trading, DMA and Securities control frameworks, escalating control issues as necessaryThere must be a clear understanding of the broker-dealer and e-trading technical and regulatory environment and experience in applying a control and governance framework that aligns to both the expectations of the bank as well as those of the regulators (e.g. FINRA, OCC, FRB, CFTC).Assurance – assist in ensuring the regional execution of desk/control reviews, thematic reviews and other remediation/assurance work as requiredGovernance Forums – Ensure that the agenda / contents of the business non-financial risk forums and other forums as required is ‘fit for purpose’ so that key control issues and emerging risks are appropriately discussed and addressed. - act as secretary to the meeting, ensure pack is produced, set the agenda and drive the focus on key control issues and emerging risksTracking of Issues in Firm's Reporting Tools - Support the wider Non-Financial Risk team and Front Office Management in the maintenance and upload of items into HELIOS and other relevant systemsEscalation Point - Act as an additional point of escalation for stakeholders front to back with respect to internal non-financial risk issues for the businessAssist in Implementing and Overseeing Policies Processes to mitigate the business' top and emerging risksAudit: Act as an additional contact point for Audit as well as monitor the implementation of audit points to ensure timely remediation and enhancement in the control environment

For this role, HSBC targets a pay range between $125,600.00 and $188,300.00

The final fixed pay offer will depend on the candidate and a number of variables, including but not limited to, role responsibilities, skill set, depth of experience and education, licensing/certification requirements, internal relativity, and specific work location.

A good understanding of the Front to back processes and market practices within the Equity business including Cash Equities, Equity Derivatives, and Prime FinanceRequires knowledge of key US regulations impacting the US Broker Dealer and Swap Dealer.Strong understanding of Markets business and products, E-Trading activities, Direct Market Access and Securities - ideally with in depth knowledge of Cash Equity Equity Derivative products productsAbility to partner with Global counterparts to ensure both the Global and Regional NFR requirements are metEffective in the continuously evolving control framework within Global MarketsAbility to engage and influence senior business and functional stakeholdersExperience in working with support functionsStrong analytical skills required to perform in depth review of risk impact of change in existing businessPrevious experience working in Global Markets and demonstrable ability to deliver complex projects with multiple stakeholders involvedAbility to establish strong relationships with internal and external clients.
