Equities Product Specialist

This individual is responsible for supporting the Product Specialist team across the equity asset classes, including sales initiatives as well as smooth functioning of day-to-day related activities. The role will serve as the effective “link” between the portfolio management teams, distribution (both locally and globally), product teams, client proposition, and marketing.

As our Equities Product Specialist you will:

Generate investment ideas and promoting them to internal and external audiences (Investment Counsellors, Relationship Managers and clients). Team members must be able to maintain coverage and follow the development of existing investment ideas and themes, while simultaneously be working on new ideas (i.e. deadline and time management skills are important for the role).The team primarily aligns its stock picking exercise primarily alongside HSBC Private Bank’s Global Investment Committee strategic views, but is also expected to work on bespoke equity idea generation for UHNW clients and also helps generate ideas with the Structured Product teamsDemonstrate superior company analytical knowledge and a good understanding of business and valuation models, allowing her/him to synthetize complex concepts to audiences of varying degrees of sophistication – including UHNWI’sThe team also contributes to the strategic House View, and as such should also have a strong understanding of global sectoral and style factors – able to link bottom up stock recommendations into a broader top down context. Equity specialists must also be able to advise and comment on global stocks, even if there are regional specialities for content production (US, Europe, Asia)Demonstrate a good understanding of key ESG issues and risks and incorporate ESG factors in his/her analytical work based on HSBC’s growing ESG frameworkStrong presentation and communication skills (written and verbal) in English are required – with expert knowledge of PowerPoint, Excel and Bloomberg.

For this role, HSBC targets a pay range between $175,000.00 and $225,000.00

The final fixed pay offer will depend on the candidate and a number of variables, including but not limited to, role responsibilities, skill set, depth of experience and education, licensing/certification requirements, internal relativity, and specific work location.

You´ll likely have the following qualifications to succeed in this role:

7-10 years’ experience in global equity markets. Ideal profile would be Private Banking Advisory / Product Specialist, but we will also consider candidates coming from Equity Sell-Side.
Degree in Finance or Economics, with CFA or Masters equivalent preferred.
Fully conversant with Microsoft Office with deep knowledge of Bloomberg, Excel and Powerpoint
Fluent English
