Equity Analyst - Edge
What You'll Do We are looking for an Equity Analyst to join Principal Edge! In this role, you’ll develop an understanding of our investment philosophy and process to support fundamental, bottom-up research and recommend investments for inclusion in its equity portfolios. Work independently to find quality companies within your sector Perform financial analysis and make projections to support your investment recommendations Work with Edge’s Director of Research and Portfolio Managers to make long-term investment recommendations for multiple portfolios Maintain research coverage of existing investments within the assigned sector coverage Proactively research, compile, and analyze information to aid Portfolio Managers in making informed investment decisions. Principal Edge is an investment team within Principal Asset Management. Edge manages $21B from its Seattle-based office. The team’s investment process seeks to identify quality companies that pay meaningful, growing dividends. Edge has roots dating back to 1939, managing one of the first mutual funds in the country. Edge's philosophy and process is based on the following: Identifying quality businesses with above average fundamental performance A long-term (typically 5+ years) investment horizon A willingness to purchase businesses when they are out of favor Learn more about us on the Principal Edge website Who You Are Bachelor's degree, with either an emphasis in finance, economics, accounting, or engineering, or strong operational experience in a company outside of the investment management field and a deep understanding of the both the business and the industry in which it operates 3+years of related experience with strong analytical, financial, and economic skills Experience with equity research or portfolio management Skills That Will Help You Stand Out MBA or CFA designation, or progress towards Strong Excel, Bloomberg, database, and Internet research skills A high level of self-initiative, intellectual curiosity, and comfort taking informed risks The ability to independently prioritize your day-to-day work and strong time-management skills Collaborative Superior verbal and written communication skills Effectively summarize research and use it to support and communicate persuasive recommendations Salary Range Information Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. Salary Range (Non-Exempt expressed as hourly; Exempt expressed as yearly) $137000 - $185000 / year Time Off Program Flexible Time Off (FTO) is provided to salaried (exempt) employees and provides the opportunity to take time away from the office with pay for vacation, personal or short-term illness. Employees don’t accrue a bank of time off under FTO and there is no set number of days provided. Work Environments This role offers the ability for in-office or hybrid (blending both office and remote work in a typical workweek) work arrangements.
