Equity Service Senior Consultant
Aon is looking for an Equity Compensation Senior Consultant – Hybrid! Aon Equity Services is the country’s leading full-service provider of consulting services related to equity-based compensation – providing plan design, valuation, tax & financial accounting, performance monitoring & tracking, employee education and communication, corporate governance, and investor outreach services to hundreds of publicly traded companies each year. Due to the continued growth of our practice, we are seeking to expand our Equity Services team. The primary function of this position is to apply technical and analytical consulting skills to assist clients with the design and valuation of equity-based compensation, through the development and adaptation of Excel-based statistical models (Black-Scholes, lattice-based models, Monte Carlo simulations, etc.), for financial accounting and reporting purposes. The ideal candidate has robust quantitative and interpersonal skills, is a quick learner, is able to support multiple projects while working independently, and has an intellectual curiosity and a desire to stay up to date on an ever-evolving subject matter. This position will have frequent communications with clients – often including members of the client’s senior leadership team. Enhanced knowledge of the financial accounting standards is preferred. Individuals in this role will be expected to refine and apply knowledge of compensation design and implementation practices to deliver high quality and effective client solutions. This position will lead projects with minimum direction from more experienced consultants and/or serve as a team member for larger, more complex client engagements. This role will primarily deliver billable client work but will support selling efforts and be a part of proposal teams. What the day will look like Work within a team to complete projects, analyses, and meet the needs of clients Review and/or construct financial models to estimate the fair value of equity-based compensation Review and/or prepare reports, exhibits, summaries, presentations, and recommendations for client deliverables Review and/or develop economic assumptions upon which the valuation of equity-based compensation is based Interface and co-deliver presentations to clients Manage the deliverable schedules of multiple projects to ensure timely completion Attend industry training and networking events as well as pursuing applicable industry designations Contribute to the development of innovative client solutions, including new plan design or implementation approaches across multiple client engagements Promote brand awareness by contributing to thought leadership and presenting at industry events highlighting the equity compensation expertise of Aon’s team Skills and experience that will lead to success 5+ years of equity compensation or related experience Enhanced knowledge of equity compensation strategy, design, and implementation issues, including the valuation and accounting under ASC Topic 718 or IFRS 2, taxation and other technical components of employee equity Well-rounded understanding of executive compensation (e.g., long-term incentives, SERPs, deferred compensation, employment/CIC agreements, etc.) Flexibility to work in situations where there is no unique right answer ASA, FSA, CPA, JD, MBA and/or CEP designations are desirable Superior listening skills, the ability to develop insightful questions, and identify and implement the appropriate strategy to successfully address the client’s issues Exemplary verbal and written communication skills and ability to articulate complex information, including presenting complex topics in easily understood terms to clients Ability to collaborate well with colleagues in other offices in a fast-paced, often virtual, team environment Working knowledge of statistical methods, data analysis and presentation, and creative problem solving Maturity to operate independently, yet maintain open communication with team members on changing landscape/priorities Experience with Microsoft Office applications: Excel, Word, and PowerPoint How we support our colleagues In addition to our comprehensive benefits package, we encourage a diverse workforce. The salary range for this position (intended for U.S. applicants) is $120,000 - $140,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant’s geographic location. This position is eligible to participate in one of Aon’s annual incentive plans to receive an annual discretionary bonus in addition to base salary. The amount of any bonus varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan.
