Emergency Nurse Internship Program – Pinellas/Pasco
Have you always wanted to become an ER nurse but didn’t have the ER experience needed? BayCare is offering an ER internship to help you build your foundation to become an ER nurse. We’re looking for experienced RN’s or newly graduated nurses for this program.
The ER Internship Program or ENIP is an opportunity to acquire the knowledge and skills to transition into an ER setting. Weare seeking motivated, mature, self-directed professionals who are interested in growing in a dynamic team and making a difference.

Internship details:
3 weeks of didactic and 8-16 weeks of preceptorshipGuided clinical orientation to ensure up-to-date and comprehensive care knowledgeShift: Interns will gain experience on both day and night shift before being assigned a permanent shiftEvery other weekend requirementCommitment: This is an hours-based commitment required for the internship program specifically to the unit of hire beginning at the end of completed preceptorship hours
Requirements:
Current RN (Registered Nurse) LicenseAssociate’s, Bachelor's or Higher in NursingBLS certification from the American Heart AssociationEKG Script test will be provided at the start of the internship program, you are required to pass within 2 attempts. Failure to do so will result in being released from the internship programPreferred: ACLS certification with the American Heart AssociationPreferred: 1-year experience in an Acute Care setting

The Registered Nurse – Emergency Room is responsibilities and skills:
Works in a hospital setting and independently cares for a group of patients consistently using the nursing process and clinical standardsDelegates appropriate patient care activities to other members of the health care teamOrganizes and prioritizes and updates plan of care in collaboration with patients, family and significant othersIdentifies patients at risk for injury regarding diagnosis, medication, procedure, age, etc., and prepares room environmentMonitor, record, and update care team on patient vitals and assessments.Identifying sudden or subtle changes in a patient’s medical conditionResponding to medical emergencies for critical patientsHigh emotional intelligence to create a positive patient care experience that includes simplifying medical terminology and concepts to the patient Professional accountability and development
