Job Description
This phlebotomist will support the ER. Our staff use electronic handheld devices called TC51s that notify them when they have sticks. If the person is in the ER, the flow board notifies them. The staff member can then scan the patient’s arm band with the TC51 device, which prints the labels for them. Responsibilities include performing at an advanced level in the collection and proper handling of venous and capillary specimens, registration of patients, lab contracts, and specimens ensuring all registration data is accurate and complete. Additionally, the role requires preparing, checking for accuracy, and implementing charting of Laboratory, Pathology, and Imaging reports as needed.
