Qualifications

Education

Required: Graduate of an Emergency Medical Technician Program

Experience

Preferred: Emergency Medical Technician experience

Certifications

Required: Current EMT-Basic (EMT-B) or EMT-Intermediate (EMT-I) certification. BLS.

Description

Summary

The Emergency Department Technician performs various patient care activities and related non-professional services necessary in caring for the personal needs and comfort of patients. Provides basic nursing care to patients and assists in maintenance of a safe and clean environment under the direction and supervision of the R.N. in charge of the team or Charge RN in charge of the unit. May Assists the nurse in transporting patients, medications/blood products to and from the unit.
