Primary Purpose of the Organizational Unit ERP Support, Platform Integration, Workflow & Automation is a development sub-unit of Enterprise Application Development & Delivery (EADD). The EADD unit within Information Technology Services supports UNCG students, faculty and staff by implementing, maintaining, and supporting complex, integrated enterprise systems. These systems support functions across academic and business units, and are used by all students, faculty and staff. The services support academic and business functions such as student recruitment, admissions, curriculum management, advising, registration, billing, financial management and budgeting, purchasing, HR/Payroll, and other academic and business functions. Responsibilities include acquisition and maintenance of software systems; in-depth systems and technical business analysis; systems and applications design; application integration; programming, testing and implementation; documentation, business process modeling, database administration, and data management. The ERP Development & Support staff are responsible for the Ellucian Banner ERP and related systems. This team works extremely closely with Database Administrators, Enterprise Infrastructure, IT Business Architects & Analysts, Enterprise Reporting & Data Management, and the Integration, Workflow & Automation group. These teams are driven by technical expertise, institutional knowledge, collaboration, and pragmatism.Objectives & Principles: Ensure a high level of alignment with institutional objectives to improve effectiveness of operational processes across the organization. Ensure high level of alignment with requirements from Institutional and ITS (Information Technology Services) leadership that support strategic objectives. Position Summary The Analyst/Programmer for HR/Payroll and Finance works with HR/Payroll and Finance functional staff, fellow HR/Payroll and Finance analyst/programmers in ITS, and other stakeholders to design, develop, test, and implement ERP solutions in an Ellucian Banner and associated application environments. In this process the incumbent works with HR/Payroll and Finance business units to understand business requirements and implements applications to meet those needs in alignment with UNCG’s strategic goals. Works within a variety of software development lifecycles and project management approaches to achieve goals. Provide development and support of ERP Finance technical implementation, both from a development and an integration perspective with a scope that covers applications hosted in-house and cloud-based solutions. Develops code and writes potentially complex database queries for the technical services that the ERP Development & Support team are responsible for. Uses programming languages applicable each platform to develop new solutions and processes that meet client needs, or alter the system to function Contribute to discussions with IT and Client Leadership, ERP Architect, ERP module leads, ERP Developers, Project Managers and clients to ensure technical implementations, roadmaps and related upgrades/releases are properly structured, scheduled, and implemented, with particular focus on the needs of the Finance & Administration Areas of the of the University. Development, deployment, maintenance and support of Banner Finance functionality and installed modules. Collaborates with others, and contributes code, and assists with processes related to system upgrades, module patching, and new software installations. Support as needed ERP-related systems, including but not limited to Banner Workflow, Ellucian Ethos, Ellucian Experience, Banner Document Management as it relates to Finance needs. Identification, maintenance, support, and migration or decommissioning of legacy/obsolete objects and processes within Banner. Collaborate to develop and ensure adherence to best-practice coding standards. Work to ensure the Finance and Administration technical solutions are aligned with Ellucian’s own roadmap and direction for SaaS offerings. Proactively monitor risks and issues and create actionable response plans. Efficiently coordinates and collaborates to meet requests beyond ad-hoc needs. Collaborate and share with ERP developers on the team, for both functional and technical knowledge. Ensure that technical implementations are designed and built to comply with, and always adhere to, institutional and organizational security, data privacy and other risk and compliance policies, procedures and controls. This position primarily supports and develops code for Ellucian Banner Finance, HR and Payroll but will also engage with other enterprise platforms such as Microsoft Azure, ServiceNow and GitHub. This position is expected to provide advanced troubleshooting and problem resolution to support activities within a complex integrated university-wide environment. This position works closely with other members of ITS and various departments around campus, to implement large projects. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or higher with a major in computer science, information technology, or related disciplines, or equivalent work experience in an analyst/programmer-equivalent role required. Ability to analyze and effectively interpret technical requirements required. Experience with SQL required, preferably Oracle SQL. Experience with XML required. Experience with data driven procedural programming language, preferably Oracle PL/SQL. Experience supporting and developing solutions for Ellucian Banner Finance. Experience with business processes related to Finance & Administration operations. Experience working with Git source code management.


Additional Required Certifications, Licensures, and Certificates Preferred Qualifications Experience in a higher education setting using Ellucian Banner for Finance & Administration users. Experience with Java or similar object-oriented language. Experience with JavaScript. Experience working with RESTful APIs, Web Services and JSON. Experience with HTML. Experience with the new SaaS offerings from Ellucian.

Percentage Of Time 75 Key Responsibility Effective design, development and support of Banner Finance, HR/Payroll and related ERP Back-Office applications, and associated applications and services Essential Tasks Works with HR/Payroll and Finance business units to understand business requirements and develops and documents Banner and other ERP applications technical specifications based on these business requirements. Utilizes technical specifications to develop/install Banner/other ERP application solutions in support of Finance & Administration business needs. Tests, debugs, and (where necessary) remediates Banner/other ERP solutions in support of Finance & Administration business needs and works with the ERP Leads and other ITS staff to maintain production currency of Finance & Administration and associated modules in Banner. Provides Banner and other ERP application troubleshooting support to HR/Payroll and Finance functional units as needed. Perform ERP systems and software development, support, and design. Act as technical resource for strategic projects related to Ellucian Banner. Work with GIT repositories related to ERP environment. Assist with code deployment responsibilities. Collaborate closely with other IT teams, including but not limited to IT Business Architects & Analysts, Enterprise Infrastructure, Systems Engineering, Enterprise Data Governance & Reporting, and IT Security to ensure ERP systems are effectively and efficiently designed, hosted, monitored and managed.
