RTX has an opening for an ERP Team Leader – Plan to Deliver - Workstream leader position (Associate Director, Business Systems and Transformation).
Are you interested in playing a key role in defining the future of Aerospace and Defense? If so, we’re hiring a (Plan to Deliver) ERP Team Leader to help drive our oneRTX: Process & Systems Transformation program.
The OneRTX: Process & Systems Transformation Program will harmonize key business processes, associated tools, metrics, and reporting across the company, enabling the migration of capabilities into standardized ERP systems. RTX has selected SAP S/4HANA as the foundation for our upcoming ERP transformation. The team has largely finalized the strategic definition and design discovery. As we transition into the initial blueprinting workshops, to support this effort we are seeking to fill this critical leadership role.
We’re looking for a skilled SAP (Plan to Deliver) digital technology leader to oversee and drive enhancements for our SAP Planning, Manufacturing, Quality, logistics and Aftermarket / MRO solutions. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in SAP systems, a strong technical background, and the ability to lead cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement and efficiencies across our operations.
The (Plan to Deliver) ERP Team Leader will be responsible for the successful delivery of each phase in the program:
Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of SAP professionals, providing guidance on best practices and technical solutions within the (Plan to Deliver) workstream.
Technical Expertise: Provide in-depth knowledge of SAP modules related to (Plan to Deliver), such as SAP MM (Materials Management), SAP PP (Production Planning), Logistics and SAP SD (Sales and Distribution).
Blueprint – Help to drive detailed design discussions, utilizing best practices and maximizing process harmonization opportunities; evaluation of process gaps and making scope decisions.
Build: Collaborate with an integrated team of both external partners and internal RTX members to configure and develop robust system capabilities.
Testing – Support and drive the creation and execution of test scenarios and scripts; work alongside business leaders and testers to ensure proper functionality and defect resolution.
Cutover & Hypercare – Support successful migration from legacy systems to new environments. Support go-live and the continuation of RTX financial and operational performance goals.
What You Will Do:
Lead collaboration efforts with business, digital and cross-functional teams to understand requirements and provide guidance on utilizing the ERP system effectively.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement solutions that leveraging S/4HANA, enhancing our Plan to Deliver processes in alignment with desired RTX operating model and industry best practices.
Support the creation of new and innovative solutions to support digital and business strategies and common design aspirations.
Support the evaluation of optional bolt-on applications, assist with communicating recommendation based on functional requirements, desired RTX operating model, and industry best practices.
Assist data team and process teams in data mapping activities and testing.
Document common solutions, including configuration documents, process flows and data policies.
Lead functional specifications for forms, reports, enhancements, conversion programs, integrations and workflows deemed in scope for (Plan to Deliver) as part of the program.
In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with SAP systems including system configuration, data management, and reporting capabilities.
Mentor less experienced team members in specific areas of the (Plan to Deliver) business process hierarchy
Ensure that RTX is positioned for future success within all functional areas of (Plan to Deliver)
25% - 50% travel expected
Qualifications You Must Have:
Typically a minimum of 12+ years’ experience in configuring and supporting SAP ERP and a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) or equivalent combination of related work experience and schooling in lieu of degree; Advanced degree and 9+ years related work experience.
Requires deep management and leadership knowledge to lead cross-department project teams or manage across multiple related departments.
9+ years' Working knowledge of (Plan to Deliver) business processes and technical system knowledge in the following areas:
Experience with implementing Inventory/Warehouse and Transportation Management and experience with implementing batch management and traceability capabilities
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract
Qualifications We Prefer:
Twelve + years of experience leading people and processes within the SAP ERP ecosystem and a working knowledge of the (Plan to Deliver) technical system and business processes, should be knowledgeable of the following areas:
Manufacturing execution – including Make to Stock, Make to Order, GPD/PMMO, and Aftermarket processes
Plant Maintenance
Production Master Data - Material masters, BOM, Routing, Work centers, Production Versions, Material replenishment for Production Area, Backflush, Kanban process, etc.
Experience in designing solutions for discrete manufacturing & repetitive manufacturing environments are critical
Materials Planning – Demand, Supply Inventory optimization, SIOP
Logistics – Inventory/Warehouse Management, RFID, Handheld scanning
Quality Management
Smart factory integrations
Experience working on large, complex A&D enterprise projects -- or similarly regulated and large organizations.
Experience with both waterfall and agile frameworks/iterative approaches to software development and implementation projects are highly desired.

Communication and Collaboration: Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate complex concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders with strong teamwork and collaboration skills.

Compliance Mindset: Familiarity with financial regulations, controls, and security measures. Experience implementing and maintaining compliance standards within an ERP system.
