ESG Analyst & Data Scientist

Job Purpose/Role

 

The Economic Research Department's mission is to carry out diagnosis, monitoring and forecasts of macroeconomic and corporate trends on a worldwide basis, to assess and monitor country risks and industry risks, and to develop in depth analysis on key crosscutting themes such as global trade, protectionism, insolvencies, payment behaviour, sustainability, both for internal (strategic, commercial and risk decisions) and external (brand awareness).

 

As an ESG Analyst and Data Scientist you are in charge of monitoring ESG regulations & developments on the corporate side. You are responsible for aggregating and maintaining large financial and ESG datasets, and for developing in depth analysis on sectors’ financial health and financial impacts of green transition pathways in collaboration with the financial analysts of the team.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

- Ensure thorough monitoring of key ESG trends from regulations (globally but with a focus on Europe and US) to government policies to corporate actions (new technologies, green targets/actions etc.)

- Develop research on ESG by compiling data, modelling and setting up monitoring dashboard etc.

- Deliver quality knowledge products on ESG to leverage Allianz Trade’s outreach (write analytical reports and make presentations to clients, prospects and the media on sustainability topics)

- As a strong data-oriented team member, support the team in their data-related projects, by setting up new indicators, setting-up new database, leveraging our proprietary databases and developing new modelling tools using econometrics and applied data science.

 

 

Key Requirements/Skills/Experience

 

- Strong skills in econometrics and data science is a must

- Strong knowledge in ESG-related topics (climate economics/finance, carbon pricing etc.)

- Knowledge in micro-economy/corporate finance/statistics and an interest for macroeconomics

- Ability to work in an international environment

- Programming in Python

- Very good knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint

- Experience with financial data providers (Refinitiv Eikon, Bloomberg) and AWS environment are an advantage
