We are seeking a highly motivated and passionate Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Specialist to join our team. The ESG Specialist will play a crucial part in evaluating and enhancing Leslie’s performance in areas related to environmental impact, social responsibility, and governance practices. This role will conduct research, analyze data, and manage projects across a range of ESG areas, including environmental sustainability, social impact, and ethical governance. The ESG Specialist will also lead initiatives to embed ESG principles across all facets of our operations, influencing company culture, policies, and strategic decision-making. The ESG Specialist will report to the Director of Human Resources.
Key Responsibilities:
Research and Analysis:
Conduct in-depth research on ESG trends, best practices, and regulatory developments Analyze ESG data and performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and opportunities for innovation Prepare reports and presentations on ESG performance and progress In conjunction with other internal departments, act as the overall Project Manager to develop Leslie’s Annual Sustainability Report, establish internal and external ESG talking points, presentations and RFP support Assist in the preparation of other ESG reports and disclosures, such as GRI reports and TCFD reports Ensure compliance with relevant ESG reporting frameworks and regulations Support the development and implementation of ESG projects and initiatives, such as: Environmental sustainability programs (e.g., energy efficiency, waste reduction, water conservation) Social impact programs (e.g., community engagement, diversity & inclusion initiatives, human rights) Ethical governance programs (e.g., anti-corruption, data privacy, supply chain responsibility) Monitor project progress, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and ensure timely completion Build and maintain transparent and accountable relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including Executive leadership, employees, investors, customers, and NGOs Respond to ESG-related inquiries and requests for information Stay abreast of the latest ESG trends, regulatory developments, and best practices Identify and recommend improvements to the company's ESG strategy and programsQualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Business, or a related field; and/or 1-2 years of work experience in ESG, sustainability, or a related field Proven research, analytical, and problem-solving abilities Strong project management and organizational skills, resulting in successful project outcomes Proven ability to proactively identify and address challenges, prioritize tasks effectively, and consistently meet deadlines Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to foster strong collaborative relationships and clearly convey complex information to diverse audiences
