Job Summary
The Esthetician will be responsible for delivering high quality medical esthetic services including skin care, laser and other image enhancement services. In doing so, they will afford clients the opportunity to enhance their overall well-being as it relates to planning, intervention and evaluation of their medical esthetic needs. In the course of delivering outstanding customer service, the incumbent will collaborate with health care professionals and ancillary staff within the framework of policies and procedures of Spectrum Health and the legal framework of the State.
Essential Functions
Provide professional, safe, appropriate and effective skin care, esthetic and other image enhancing services using industry recommended processes and procedures and in accordance with spa policy and procedures while demonstrating outstanding customer service throughout.Perform consultations using recommended procedures.Perform treatments according to policy while using recommended procedures: implement physician’s orders in accordance with policies; works closely with referring physician to develop care plan unique to patient; recommends patient/client to the physician for any advanced medical procedure; completes health history and updates record prior to each session; ascertain precautions/contradictions prior to each session; observe client reaction to services and modify technique as necessary; solicit feedback and respond accordingly; prepares, administers and documents all sessions, procedures and therapies according to established policies and procedures; document the patient/client response to care and modify the plan of care accordingly; demonstrate a thorough working knowledge of all products/procedures, emphasize product benefits and encourage home care program.Maintain client confidentiality and sensitivity to age and gender related issues during client interactionsConsistently meet and/or exceed service and retail objectives. Maintain a minimum efficiency rating that supports the overall prosperity of the spa.Proactively acquire new clients and preserve existing client relationships. Handle patient/client complaints by following the spa procedures and insuring patient/client satisfaction.Prepare treatment rooms and maintain overall environment of care including: cleanliness of treatment room, prep room, and spa in general, assisting in the locker, laundry and/or waiting area as needed; responsible for sanitation procedures of all tools used after each patient/client; supplies and equipment, ensure proper sanitation procedures are utilized following patient/client usage and dispose of used linens as appropriate; maintain all equipment in working order. Organize, label and maintain supplies in an orderly fashion. Notify management of all maintenance, environmental services, physicians, administrative, or office needs.
QualificationsRequired High School Diploma or equivalent 1 year of relevant experience PreferredLIC-Cosmetologist - STATE_MI State of Michigan required Or LIC-Esthetician - STATE_MI State of Michigan required
